75 Wentworth Ave 2000, Sydney

Went here on a suggestion from a friend (via Good Food Guide) - we were not disappointed! The 8-course tasting menu was absolutely fantastic, with rich flavours being followed up by an overwhelming array of subtle tastes, tangs and freshness peeking through - there was not a dish I could fault. Not being a fan of mushroom generally - I even found the mushroom consommé excellent! - exuding rich flavours that weren't overpowering and that were in fact complimented by the truffle dumplings. Talking to the staff - this place is already showing up on the radar. I went mid-week and it had a few diners - but for Thursday/Friday nights - you will need to book well ahead (at least 2-3 weeks in advance). Really liked it! (so much so, that I shall return to try out the 3-course lunch in a few week's time)

35 Wheat Rd, Rooftop Terrace Cockle Bay Wharf 2000, Sydney

Very funky terrace bar, groovy tunes, service a little haphazard but fun wait staff made up for it! Definitely a great spot for a drink (great cocktails) and a bite to eat (very good food). Good mixed crowd which I always like. Good views over Darling Harbour. It does close at 12 midnight due to licensing restrictions - super timing for me!! but others may mind. Great spot for summer drinks.

Shop 12 537-551 George St 2000, Sydney

Far less sensational than its sibling, Mappen, but still a decent meal for a very very low price.

Meh. Same as Ripples everywhere. Avoid the big breakfast, the bread is dodgy.

1/151 Oxford Street Darlinghurst 2010, Sydney

New burger joint on Oxford street. Hipsterish, odd location and set up inside. No aircon and felt like a sauna. Surprisingly great burger though!

49 Market Street 0, Sydney

Super funky space with a really good vibe. The service was casual and at times a little sloppy but I didn't mind it too much given the fairly casual feel of the place. The food was really good. we had the scallops which were lovely. I had the minute steak which was fantastic. The cocktails were good. Really liked it and will def go back for a Friday night drink and a bite to eat.

563 Elizabeth St 2010, Sydney

Nice food! Would recommend mixed plate as you get a bit of everything, the decor is not the greatest it is the food your going for! This place has been here for 30+ years! Prices are good and staff are nice. Parking is a real shocker so try the back streets

50 Holt Street Surry Hills 2010, Sydney

Great place to wait for a table at Porteño downstairs, though really...I would absolutely come here anyways even if it wasn't attached to Porteño. Try the Banana Old Fashioned!

1/85 Dunning Ave, Sydney 2018, Sydney

As you approach this warehouse setting, it's easy to think you've been given the wrong address. The cheery wooden open sign as you enter, along with a set of people smiling enjoying coffee reassure you when you get here. The courtyard outside is spacious and dotted with Rosemary plants, thyme, grapevines, olive trees, citrus trees and a raspberry cane. They're all young plants but I can't wait to come back next summer and see the menu that will be using the produce from the garden. Five senses coffee was good - the latte perhaps a bit too milky. The baked beans with poached egg and bacon was very tasty. A lovely spot with great atmosphere
