First time at Oiden today, can report that it was a very pleasurable experience! Great value for money, fast service and delicious food. De, a gentleman that served us was amazing in explaining the menu and ordering style and was very patient as we learn how to order. Overall, great experience.
Nice place for a quick bite. The bowls are pretty decent but I won’t recommend the fried food here. Quality was quite average
Oiden Bowl Bar is a Japanese fast food eatery with self service hot and cold donburi dishes. You choose a rice bowl that you want to order from a big menu from premium Wagyu Beef, tender roast beef, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Karaage, Stewed beef bowl, Special healthy bowl, Japanese curry rice to Japanese Hayashi rice. You can make it a value set meal with miso soup and homemade drink/salad. You can also choose some hot bar snacks and Japanese dessert and then find a seat to sit down and enjoy a quick and easy meal.
Great spot for a cheap and filling Japanese meal in Sydney CBD. They specialise in rice bowls with different meat toppings, I would recommend the Wagyu beef or chicken karaage. Do yourself a favour and get the “otama” half boiled egg - the egg mixes through the rice to make it delicious and creamy! With heaps of options under $10 you can’t go wrong. Definitely a busy spot around peak times so be prepared as there’s not much seating!
Great vibes, it emulates Japan’s casual restaurants quite well with traditional music and counter style set up. Okonomiyaki ($3.80) was good especially for that price. Salmon tataki bowl lacked flavour, would not order again, but would go back to this place in general to try other menu items
Very tasty food for a great price, great service and the food is served quickly. The meat grilling was very efficient, having looked at it myself. Recommend anyone who likes Japanese style rice bowls to come here.
If you feel like more than sushi but you don't have much time, Oiden Bowl bar offers lots of reasonably priced and quick Japanese meal. You can add soup and salad on top of your meal as part of combos. Otherwise, you can purchase takoyaki, croquettes, potato salad and other small size extras as side dish.
I have been coming here since they first opened nearly 10 years ago. It's a fantastic spot for a cheap warm meal.
Love coming here! Food is affordable and delicious! I got the teriyaki chicken bowl with garlic but next time I think I’ll skip the garlic butter it didn’t need it as it was already delicious... the side are very cheap and good roo
I was excited to try this place after seeing all the 5 star reviews, but it was pretty disappointing. The beef hayashi is sour tasting with no discernible beef bits. It is 2/5 stars, with extra +1 because of the cheap price and fast service.
