Great atmosphere especially on the rooftop bar area. Thoroughly enjoyed the Lamb shoulder but the steak special was a little gristly. Would definitely go back there again.

Food is average at best. Reasonably priced for location though. Do not offer any sauces like mushroom or Diane sauce which is a first for a pub that I've encountered. Only option was gravy.

A light lunch for 4 on the rooftop bar. Spectacular views of the harbour. Good chicken wings and harissa chicken skewers. Just good pub food to go with a few beverages. Staff good but not great, if not for the rooftop bar, just another inner city pub, but would go again.

Great pub in the rocks with an excellent rooftop area. The tables out in the sun could do with a good wipe-down, the new COVID safe ordering puck on our table was pretty disgusting, everything else about the rooftop was superb.

Saturday night was pretty packed, it was everywhere and it was so great they were able to fit us in. The place itself is amazing and the service although busy was swift and to the point. A good selection of beers on tap and a number of other drinks to choose from. Definitely a good place to go with a couple of mates to grab a beer and have a good night.

TL;DR - Just don't. We had three meals: chicken schnitzel; Rocks Burger; Gnocchi. All arrived on the cold side of luke-warm. The chicken was overcooked and dry, and we're not completely convinced of the free-range claim. The burger tasted identical to a Big Mac, although everything about the offering at McDonald's is usually a bit warmer. The gnocchi was fairly nondescript. A comment to a staff member on departure was met with general indifference. The view was pretty spectacular, though.

Great view of the harbour a place to show off Sydney to your out of town family and friends. Even the the views from tne toilets are amazing. Not a great beer list, and they really need to sort the Guiness out - very acrid, the food is not bad. Sticky chicken wings was a bit over seasoned, but the lamb shoulder was melt in your mouth tender.

Description

The Glenmore Hotel was built by Brewers Tooth & Co in 1921 and has been an Aussie icon ever since. It is one of the last surviving pre- Harbour Bridge buildings on Cumberland Street, north of the Cahill Expressway. The site is known to have been occupied from the early years of 1800, although it is likely that, like the other ridges of The Rocks, it was occupied by the encampment of settlers in the first weeks of the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788. With its colonial old English charm and character, The Glenmore has been a popular watering hole, which has survived depressions, wars and plagues. This hidden gem in The Rocks was starting to show her age and in early 2012 it was closed for refurbishment for 9 months of loving restoration. The building itself is heritage listed for it’s traditional Rocks pub allure.
