Yummy yummo yum
Best meal I've had in Tassie. Couldn't fault it.
Templo is my favourite restaurant in the world. The food is phenomenal, the wine is matched perfectly, the staff are just the friendliest, knowledgeable and most helpful people in existence, the atmosphere is relaxed but fancy but unpretentious. Always an amazing night - I think I've been 4 times now and my expectations have been exceeded every time. I recommend booking as soon as you book your trip to Hobart to avoid disappointment.
The most special dinner in Hobart. Beautiful Italian inspired food highlighting the local produce. Their tagliatelle with corn and bottarga was one of the best pasta dishes we’ve tried in a long time! Lovely intimate atmosphere and wonderful service.
Very disappointing dining experience. The wines were tasty yet the pairing was off. Two of the wines coming from the same vineyard showed a lack of care. The food was nothing special either. I would describe the uniqueness of the dishes as similar to those weird recipes you see in a cookbook and instantly dismiss. The quite enamoured with Tasmania by far the most disappointing part as we excited reacted to receiving a pair with Tasmanian wine, the wait staff informed us that Tasmanian wine in general is boring and not worth showcasing.
Can I only give 5 stars? Great food. Great wines! And the service? The best. What a beautiful meal with the best of company. A sumptuous pairing of courses and wines. Loved it!!!!🙏
Templo is a very small space, with 2 sittings a night for about 18 people, all clustered around shared tables or window seats. There appears to be 2 people in the kitchen and 2 others who run the place and serve the food. They’re totally on top of their game – know the food and wine intimately and did a great job serving and explaining the menu. It’s a set price 3 course meal, with an optional 4th course for an additional fee (which about 2/3 of the restaurant took up). You book, turn up and then await the food. It’s all good, rather than great food, much like you’ve had a really good dinner at a friend’s place, but it’s easy to say why it’s so popular as there’s a lovely feel to the place. Wine choice are, frankly, very weird. Organics and raw wines, which seems to be a trend now, and we’ve never yet found a place that makes this worthwhile. Despite the set menu the owners/chefs/staff had no problems coping with a celiac, and made clear from the moment we raised it they had it under control. There’s plenty of street parking right out front, but don’t bother arriving even a minute before your advertised start time as the place is so small they can’t let you in until the previous sitting is cleared.
A very cute place. Small menu but food is amazing. Really enjoyed their balsamic lamb ribs.
Food was nice but portions were very small (especially the main) for a $85 set menu price, especially as time between courses was way too long - we did an 8pm seating and dessert wasn’t served until 10:15pm. Disappointing as we were really excited for this meal but we left feeling it was overpriced and not good value. On the plus side, BYO is always a win.
The staff were lovely! We were provided excellent recommendations on their specials and wine. Templo were excellent are catering for my dietary needs (coeliac). My partner and I had a delicious meal and would recommend!
