Mures Lower Deck

Victoria Dock Downstairs 7000, Hobart

If you are looking for fine dining this is not it, sadly the excellent food is marred by the atmosphere. Dated, clunky furniture (no tablecloths), dull decor and hit and miss staff. Far to big and crowded to be pleasant. Please go back to your beginnings, small and quality. The food is generous in size and delightful but the dubious surroundings make it less so. Our wine did not arrive until the entrees were served and then the bread rolls came after entree too!

Jackman & McRoss

4 Victoria St 7000, Hobart

Amazing, sure it can take a little time but the food is incredible

5, Knopwood Street 7000, Hobart

Not easy to find unless you know about it already, but the beer selection was great, and the atmosphere was tops! Nice to have quiet beer now and again, or a get together with a few mates. Might even get you're own set of couches! A must see.

Harbour Lights Cafe

29 Morrison St 7000, Hobart

Great all day breakfast facilities for day/night shift workers, With their range of fresh food and drink it was popular spot, but service was excellent for both sit down and takeaway customers,

Ball & Chain Grill

87 Salamanca Place 7000, Hobart

I've been here on a number of occasions and on a bad night you get an excellent steak. On a good night (and with their pepper sauce) you get something that cannot be easily described. One word of warning though - I'm now very, very cautious about ordering a steak in any other establishment (no matter what the quality) because it's just going to disappoint me now.

New Sydney Hotel

87 Bathurst St 7000, Hobart

I could be biased, being a local who is at the New Sydney on a regular basis. I love the place. The staff are friendly and Al, the licensee, is one of my favourite people. Saturday sessions are fun and its great when we get interstate visitors who join in and sing some good Irish songs. The New Sydney supports local people doing their thing, whether it be philosophy at the pub, men and bubs, and the musicians. Eclectic and just a little eccentric. . . .that's the New Sydney.

Hidden gem of Salamanca - wonderful amazingness of sweet treats !

Rockwall Bar and Grill

89 Salamanca Pl Battery Point 7004, Hobart

Very friendly place with excellent service. They are also the only restaurant that I've been to in Australia that doesn't overcook their steaks.

Shamrock Hotel Hobart

The Burger Haus

364A Elizabeth St 7000, Hobart

I've eaten here a lot but only ever for breakfast. The fried breakfasts are a great size and there's a good variety on the plate; the only let down is the sausage which is always disgusting. The fruit salad is disappointing in size and variety of fruit but light and well presented. Good relaxed vibe, good service, great location.

Ginger Brown

464 Macquarie St 0, Hobart

Probably one of the best breakfast joints in Hobart. Kid friendly too, but without losing it's cool factor. The food is awesome and the service is great too.

55 Salamanca Place 7000, Hobart

Great beer, great price. Pizza was a but oily, but tasted great.

Barilla Bay

1388 Tasman Highway Cambridge 7170, Hobart

This is the only place in the whole of Tasmania where I have experienced good service and good food. The staff were friendly and informative. The food was served promptly and was of a very high quality. It is easily the only meal I have thoroughly enjoyed in Tasmania and I wish I had not got food poisoning at another restaurant so I could have come spent my last evening there indulging in deliciousness as was planned. Barilla Bay in itself would be my only reason to come back to eat in Tasmania

Veg Bar

346 Elizabeth St 7000, Hobart

Beautiful and elegant plant based eatery in North Hobart. Amazing selection of both healthy and comfort food. Hobart finally has its go-to, unmissable, vegan joint

The Duke

192 Macquarie st cnr Barrack st 7000, Hobart

I first came here for a fang late last year, now when planning my travels through Tassie it's factored in as top of the 'MUST DO' list. The tucker is great the prices are very reasonable. The menu is quite diverse. The staff are very attentive and ready to help to ensure you enjoy yourself! They can't do enough for you, nothing is too hard for them. It's a bloody top spot! I recommend it to all. Cheers Reno 😉
