1-4 86-88 Dixon Street Chinatown 2000, Sydney
Been here a few times on a Saturday morning. Very busy, but managed to get a seat immediately and service was quick. The food is tasty, can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The youtiao is fried fresh (near impossible to find in Sydney), I recommend trying it with soy sauce. Kudos to the frontman for 11/10 energy and service.
The food I had: 1) Warm soya milk which had the fragrant taste of roasted soy beans. 2) Taiwanese vermicelli with fresh oysters. Add some Taiwanese vinegar and white pepper for extra flavour and that slight kick. 3) Pork and Century egg congee. Very good texture and flavours. 4) Cong You Bing with egg and you tiao. Not overly oily with good flavours. You tiao was very crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside.
We went to this Taiwanese restaurant several times (take away) and one of my favourite in Sydney. It’s simple but yummy and delicious. They located in Chinatown and the best way to experience the traditional taiwanese food is dine in. Service is excellent. Thumbs up 👍 and definitely recommended.
Authentic beef noodle soup. A bit spicy but in a good way. I like how their broth is made, not oily but full of flavour. Reasonable price.
Food portion is smaller than expected (for the price) and tastes pretty average. Seating next to the corridor is more suitable for kids and high chairs are available.
Delicious taiwanese food around chinatown. Must try the egg pancake with youtiao ,glutinous rice roll and. cup of soya milk! The staff are attentive and food is always amazing
I was quite surprised and impressed by the Taiwanese foods they served which I would say it’s real Taiwanese foods as been so many years away from Taiwan, even though there’s restaurants claimed they are from Taiwan but most of the taste are off & modified by local taste. The 2 ones that impressed me the most - 1) 鹹豆漿 2) beef noodle soup. And the owner is the 2nd generation young man who followed the traditional recipe from his grandmother. He was so nice and gentle with good service attitude that I have to give him the best score. I will surly visit again when next trip to Sydney. Don’t forget that this restaurant is located in Chinatown.
The xiaolung paos could use more flavours. The shallot omelet wth yutiao was good. The Taiwanese style rice noodle stir fry was average.
Big selection of very good food! I really like their BBQ pork bun with soy milk. Nice place relax and enjoy some food.
Good and authentic homemade Taiwanese food, never fails to impress
