Din Tai Fung

Really disappointed with food here. I ordered kung pao chicken with steamed rice. That's my fav. I have had this dish at Din Tai Fung in North Sydney, Gateway and World Square. I must say that the North Sydney and World Square dishes were quite consistent in look and feel and taste. I was disappointed with Gateway's food. I had more chillies than chicken. Chicken was dry, cold and chewy as if they dumped a frozen bunch in wok and didn't cook it properly. There were no ginger slices as they mention in the menu. I went back and they replaced my meal. However, the second lot was exactly the same. I figured that either the chef is a bit lazy or the standard of that place are poor. Hence dumped my food and bought something else. I will walk 15 mins to World Square if I am desperate to have Kung Pao Chicken but will never go to Gateway which is a couple of minutes of walk from where I work.

Dumplings are amazing. Very nice restaurant yet this branch is over crowded in business district prime times

I find the food good quality and tasty . Especially the pork chops and fried chicken noodles. It is a little sad how much packaging it use to delivered the food. All disposable plates bowls utensils sauces. If they can ask clients to bring their own plate for people that works around the city close to the restaurant . that will be great.

Decent dumplings in an express food court setting.. Din Tai Fung finally opens its door in circular quay and the dumplings are the same flavoursome morsels you receive in their hugely successful World Square location. I order the Pork Bun and Xiao Long Bao and they were more than sufficient for lunch. If you're looking for a speedy place to grab takeaway this is your place. Getting a table might be hard if you show up after 12:30pm but chance your hand and see how you go

Nice variety of dumplings, good noodles very friendly staff, the food was delicious and the servings not a bad size, price is about what you would expect for that part of the city, they also have a liquor licence so was nice to have a beer with lunch

Liked the experience overall. It's not that cheap since the portion sizes are small but the food is good. I ate the vegetarian spicy wonton and Xiao Long Bao (pork dumplings) both of which were quite delicious. I liked that there were quite a few vegetarian dumpling options as well. I finished the meal off with milk bubble tea; it was refreshing and wasn't too sweet, just the way I liked it.

3.6 - I popped in here quickly to have a bite before a meeting. I got the Braised Beef Noodle Soup. The Beef was surprisingly tender but the noodles were soft and almost soggy. I expected the noodle to be firm and have a bit more of a texture - this is Din Tai Fung after all so with the reputation, I expected much better! I enjoyed my experience there though as I shared the table with three elderly people travelling from another city. They amused me with their conversations and were lovely and thanked me for sharing the table. I would have tried more items if I had more time and wasn't prepping for my meeting!

counter female staff' manner who has so bad pronunciation is so rude & terrible, she must be terrorist and food is not good. it is a waste of only one star.

Very nice and clean restaurant in the nice area of the city. Food is always good, real value for the money. Place is very busy, any time of the day, any day of the week. Despite that, staff is very fast and efficient, professional and helpful. Every table has it's own Iped where you can place your order. I really like this place!!!

Interesting selection of delicious handmade dumplings, noodles and soups. Can get busy at lunch time.
