Great food, fun izakaya vibe, super service, will visit again. The sashimi, gyoza were good and both their mushrooms dishes were easily our favorite. The drinks from the bar were also smashing. We had cocktails, beer and sake.

We happened upon this by chance, seeing a sign from Shambles Brewery. Japanese craft beer and small plates all excellent, well-presented and reasonably-priced. Service was friendly and quick. All rooms were full on a Wednesday evening so best make a booking, or arrive early as we did.

Wow, oysters are fresh and service was great too. Well worth a visit.

This picture didn't even do enough justice to describe how amazing the ramen here! I think Bar Wa is my favorite place in Hobart given the relaxing chill place and all delicious dish they have on the menu. My husband and I go here all the time on Saturdays for lunch just to catch ramen time!!!! I also love the new renovated place at the back (not to mention the upgraded toilet hahaha) I cant say anything bad about Bar Wa except they make me spend heaps! Lol! PS. The quick service and friendly staff is a plus! So if you want to know what I am talking about! Book now, better sooner rather than later!!!

This place is off the charts !!!! Best Gyoza I’ve ever had outside of Japan, amazing staff, great bar menu, food is crazy good and really good value. We came as a couple and had drinks and food to fill us for $50!

Great food, drinks and good times. I highly recommend booking in advance as it gets full quickly. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Japanese food!
