The best place for proper indian food. Indian Street food on the menu is a bonus.

Visiting from Sydney, I will now make a habit of coming here every time. The first time I’ve ever had Bhel Puri and Poha. Absolutely life changing experience. Beautiful tasting food and super cheap.

Went there this morning, shocked with what they served. Bhathura came looking like fryed in reused oil as can clearly see black particles from reused oil on it. Would never go there again.

Incredible food especially the sarson ka saag. I haven’t had such an authentic Punjabi dish outside of India!

Kept driving past the Soup Shop and thinking that I should go in one day. Finally got that day and it was worth it. A great selection of Indian food, but of particular note are the soups that are always on the go. They brought it out and it was massive. Had the beautiful plain pumpkin which was delightful. Well worth a visit if your walking around Hobart. A nice soup is like a soft kiss on the cheek.

The best vegetarian restaurant in Hobart. Amazing quality, chef super accommodating to dietary restrictions and very friendly. Nice big quantities and very cheap.

After a week in Tasmania, eating out at wineries and expensive restaurants, it was a relief to eat here for a few reasons (delicious vegetables, calm simple atmosphere and reasonable price). My husband and I shared a couple of yummy salads, lassies and then coffee. Feel ready for more holiday adventures now! Thanks SoupStop for looking after us.

I have gastrointestinal problems and can no longer prepare my own food. I asked the lady who cooks the soup if she would make me some lentil and vegetable soup with no addititives. She agreed and I was very pleased. After about a week the soup was very watery and tasteless so she was asked to thicken it. She then managed to thicken it but about half the lentils were hard and not properly cooked. I threw away more soup than I ate and the uncooked lentils caused me extreme stomach pain for hours even though I only had a few mouthfuls. I don't appreciate people making money out of my suffering and what should have been easy turned to be a problem and added to my chronic pain and made me vomit.

I have no idea how this place gets decent reviews! We had a table of five and we all left very disappointed. Upon entering the establishment, my first feeling was that the ambiance left a lot to be desired. There was only one leaflet style menu offered for all five of us to share and two napkins for the table- which appeared to be the allocated number as all tables only had two. There was no table water offered so we were obligated to purchase pricey bottled drinks. Two of the juices expired 3 months ago. We each ordered a different dish and most of the food was inedible. The soups had a nasty, watered down taste and was served with a side of stale, whole meal bread. The curry was particularly average and there was a ten minute difference between when the first meal arrived to the last. I am lost for words how this restaurant can get such high reviews. Would not recommend!!

Description

A vibrant eating place located very close to Hobart City Centre. We offer warm, nourishing soups, a range of traditional and contemporary Indian food, and some of the best hot and cold drinks in town. The soup menu is truly impressive. All are hearty soups which fill the spot. They are full of natural ingredients and provide a great healthy option for any meal throughout the day. We are also known for our tapas-style Street Food of India menu, a selection of lip-smacking roadside dishes from all corners of the subcontinent. We are excited to be the first and only place in Hobart to offer this lively genre of Indian Cuisine. We look forward to seeing you here.
