Does what it says on the box and harks back to classic restaurant “grills” back in the day. Pricey but big portions of classics done very well with the best produce. Wine list is extensive and imposing but lacks value options. Still, a great venue and product.
Lunch at the Rockpool can be surprisingly inexpensive. $19 Hamburgers are very good
I’ve enjoyed many delicious meals at Rockpool Bar & Grill and last night’s dinner was no exception. I still believe it’s the most consistent restaurant in terms of high quality food (I have no idea how they churn out a menu that big for a restaurant of that size). Apart from Firedoor, Rockpool offers some of the best steak in Sydney – the David Blackmore Wagyu is a must-order. Service however is a bit patchy and dare I say, robotic. I overheard our waitress greet our surrounding tables with the same rehearsed speech before disappearing in a cloud of smoke and mirrors (and who we never saw again until we asked for the bill). At the end of the day, you come to Rockpool Bar & Grill for exceptional food and glorious wine. Unless your name ends in Murdoch or Packer, I wouldn’t expect the service to be memorable. But don’t worry, the steak is all you’ll need.
I'm a vegetarian so it was limited but what I had was very nice. And the restaurant itself has a great ambience.
All I can say is wow, the food was sensational, dish after dish! A special mention goes out to the floor staff, what a bunch of legends. Next level service. A very enjoyable evening and walked out having thought money well spent!! Thanks Rockpool for a memorable evening! Will be back for sure! 🤙🤙
My favourite Sydney restaurant. Excellent ambience, flawless service, and superbly consistent good food. As a steakhouse, it is first class. I will keep it short. It is great and while quite expensive, it is worth the price.
Very tasty not only conventional Australian taste but also Italian taste.
Dined here many times, but it's gone downhill. Service can vary from frosty to decadent, but on this occasion, I was quite simply, patronised. I spoke about this openly, genuinely and fairly to the Manager. Outcome? Charged extra for the issue. Very rare for me to post a review, but at $450 for the bill, you of course expect to be treated better. The barman gets a star, who was lovely.
Good steaks. Mushroom side was delicious. Pity we couldn't stick around for dessert due to 2 hr table turnover.
Celebrated my boyfriends birthday here and it did not disappoint. I ordered a meat and pasta dish. Everything was amazing. Service and presentation was on point. Our drinks were great. Would definitely visit again. Loved the atmosphere.
