Wonderful dining experience at the chef’s table! Service was excellent. The quality of sashimi was of very high standard. However, I did not enjoy the dessert - I felt it was too sweet and did not compliment the other courses. I would have preferred a dessert with made with matcha or black sesame. Apart from that , it was a truly enjoyable dinner.
A 5- star experience. Awesome fusion Japanese dishes with a luxury twist. Totally amazing experience. I had some reserve with Kisume, as the restaurant often pop up on my social media feed ( paid advert) and I thought this might not be a good place to dine in but I was wrong. Melbourne best fushion sushi experience. Recommendations; Kisume gastronomy experience?
Service was average for the amount of money you’re paying. The staff were not attentive and the food service was extremely slow. Value for money will never be a thing when eating fine Japanese food. The calamari was to-die-for! Sushi, sashimi.. all great.. pork gyoza was average and not tasty at all. Not somewhere I’d go back too.
Food was delicious, great menu that was easy to read and understand with helpful staff to guide your dining. A lovely intimate venue, get a seat at the bar to witness the show!
Fantastic meal post lockdown! Beef was particularly delicious! Great service.
Kisume is multiple levels of sophisticated Japanese dining heaven. There are Chefs Table and Tasting Menus but we decided to order A La Carte. Mostly everything was outstanding, the edamame were perfectly charred and spiced and the calamari was probably the best I’ve ever tried with an incredible crispy batter. Both of the sushi rolls were drool worthy, I loved the addition of the compressed watermelon, so unique and went so well. The cocktails were delicious! What could’ve made it a 5? The pork gyoza had no flavour and at a price point of around $27 for 5 I expected the best gyoza i’ve ever had. The service was also not on par with the price point, they all seem to dawdle in the corner with each other and it’s pretty hard to get their attention. I had to ask for a menu 3 times at the beginning, why is there not one provided to start? 🧐 I would definitely return to try more of the menu. ⭐️4/5
Chefs table is expensive but it is an experience you will enjoy. All the food is hand made in front of you and the chef goes to great detail to explain it. Expect to pay $300 - $400 per head
I had dinner at Kisume on Saturday night for the first time. The ambience was spot on. Good lighting, comfortable temperature, not too loud and beautiful interior design. Our wait staff were fantastic and the service was faultless. The food was the only let down. We ordered 4 small meals to share and I was underwhelmed by them all. We didn’t even finish the dishes. I was expecting something really memorable for the prices we paid but unfortunately both my friend and I decided we wouldn’t go back there again. Not worth the price tag. Shame 😔
A must go for special occasions. The dishes were delicious and the staff were very attentive.
This restaurant absolutely deserves each of the 5 stars! Delicious, fresh food with incredible flavours that were beautifully presented. The 5 course banquet is worth every penny. Worth visiting for special occasions!
