We rocked up on a Saturday evening, attracted by the front beer garden and the great solo singer, guitarist entertaining the full house. We decided it would be worthwhile to wait for a seat. There was an electronic table ordering service using a QR code and smartphone. The drinks were cold and came quickly. The food service, sadly, lagged far behind. Sitting outside and hungry, I certainly felt the affects of the beer quickly. Never mind- it put me in the mood to sing loudly and with gusto to the popular tunes being belted out by the muso!😁.
The wait staff apologised for the food delay. She was very professional about it. I had the Guinness stew. It tasted okay but it wasn’t very warm and I felt sad about the small portion size. I think I’d be more inclined to eat elsewhere first next time.
Generally highly frequented pub, big beer garden with fab music, professional staff, lovely old pub -but the kitchen really needs to lift its game.
