Didn’t live up to the hype unfortunately, son in law eggs were bordering on cold and rice was undercooked. Don’t think the food justified the price tag. 1 star is a harsh review and it would’ve been higher if the king salmon had been pin boned correctly and a bone hadn’t become lodged in the back of my throat! Kind of ruined the meal.....glad I’ve experienced it for myself but won’t be returning in a hurry.
It almost made me think that Chin Chin Sydney is a second tier copy cat... This is while lot different (in much better way)... Than Chin Chin Sydney..
Extremely overrated, was excited to eat here for a birthday dinner. The food was extremelt overpriced, small portions and almost inedible terrible flavour. I should have known better then to try an "asian fusion" restaurant and can see why Chin Chins in Sydney has fairly low reviews. Staff member who served us was lovely and really helpful though and great service. I've had $8 thai takeaway specials from food courts that tasted better than this. The massaman beef curry was more like dehydrated meat, it was so dry and inedible. For the price as well you would expect the food to be better presented, everything was messy. It was $9 EACH for tiny serving of plain jasmine rice which is necessary as none of the mains include rice. I spent over $250 because there was definitely not enough food.
If you haven’t put Chin Chin on your Melbourne city dining list you are missing out. I have been there 4 times in just over a year and it is so consistently great 😌... Food_Wine list_Cocktails... start with the fish 🐟 so good 👌🏽
Chin chin never disappoints. Polished service, good venue and delicious food choices. The bar area downstairs is also nice.
Amazing experience!! Hands down best feed me menu in town. None of the dishes disappointed. We were 4 adults with 1 vegetarian. Both veg & non veg dishes were finger lickn good. Definitely recommend for all occasions : ) Keep room for desserts!!!
Great food, very diverse and flavoursome. We had group/share platters with the chef working overtime to accommodate the many food allergies in our group yet did not compromise the platters. Asya looked after us superbly. (Five stars just for her). The music volume made conversation a little difficult at times. Overall a great night out.
Divine as usual. Special mention to the waiter who noticed I wasn't enjoying the glass of wine I just ordered, without prompt came overt, and then replaced it with a different wine, no charge or questions asked. Amazing food, amazing service, and an institution for a reason
Great food, friendly service. Try to book in advance, or turn up early and get on the wait list.
Food and drinks were delicious, definitely worthy the price. Service and vibe in the restaurant was excellent. Would come here again, recommend!
