Chat Thai Haymarket

Thai food holds a special place in my heart. I was born and raised in Thailand so my expectations are extremely high. Chat Thai has truly met all my expectations and delivered the most delicious meal. We ordered the Thai papaya salad, pork salad (nam tok), Fried pork belly, crab fried rice and sticky rice. If you go for lunch, there's freshly made Thai dessert too. Worth trying. Lunch menu is slightly different. Every dish was perfect. I felt like I was in Thailand. Also a great place for a birthday meal which was what I did.

Amazing food. The balance of spices is great....The taste grows as one starts having food. This May be one of authentic thai food places. Bog thumbs up.

The crabs omelette is awesome! A lot of crab meats inside the huge omelette and it's taste so nice even though sometimes it's quite oily. Another recommendation is the Tom Yum Goong, love it!Besides that, the environment is so nice and the service is good. It's a great place to dine for supper!

The most disgraceful service our family has ever had. We were greeted with faces that shows frustration and totally bothered that new customers came in. Then we felt rushed to order and leave with the tone of the waitress and her attitude. We order Deep Fried bread ปาตั้งโก๋ and the quality of the Food had DROP sooo terribly , it was the most stale and disgustingly soft “Deep Fried” bread I’ve ever tasted. The whole thing, the experience, service and quality of food puts me off and we will never return again. So sad cos it used to be good before the owner passed. Extremely disappointed they can’t carry on the legacy.

If you want customer service as salty as their food, visit Chat Thai! Never in all my years of eating have I been scolded by staff for simply pointing out that they gave us the wrong dish. A balloon filled with runny egg has better etiquette skills.

Food was delicious, service was fast and efficient! Main problem will be the placements of staff objects in the restaurant, I know there’s limited space for the small restaurant but having a table for customers near a table filled with takeaway containers, cutleries, bags isn’t good for presentation and really kills the mood.

Really delicious and authentic Thai food. Would really recommend this place for a nice oriental dinner.

Love the Chilli Fried Rice and that there was no queue to get seated this time.

The best thai food in Sydney. Some of the staffs just need a bit more friendlier.. but all good.

If you want to go to this restaurant, please do read all the reviews carefully about the services. I truly experienced how “good” it is. This is the worst worst customer service I have ever had in Australia for Thai restaurants as usually very friendly staffs. NO SMILE AND THANK YOU from beginning to the end. They treated you like they don’t care you at all started from the door. The two reasons why the restaurant shouldn’t deserve such a high review rating. First, as food was average, curry is no good, watery and no curry taste. Pad Thai was too oil and tasteless. There are lots of better Thai restaurants out there. But it doesnt matter as I always think customer service is important and make you enjoy the meal. One more tip, If you want to order, you have to raise louder “Excuse Me” in this restaurant because they seem ignore customers and taking orders with a grumpy face. What kind of service is this?! Is that a new way of customer service? Maybe!? And very clever way to kick customers out by cleaning the table while we did not finish. The thing is we just wanted to have a relax, family cozy meal. Anyway, thank you very much for an uncomfortable meal. Paid the bill with emotionless, mute waitress at the counter without saying anything. Seriously!? We will definitely never and ever return to this restaurant. #badservice
