Went to Long Chim Sydney for dinner with a Thai friend, the food is spot on. My friend who is from Chang Mai described the dishes as "just like her grandma's cooking"

Fantastic 'thai' sandwiches. Unique taste and flavours. Decor is cute, Asian supermarket next door.

One of the better Chat Thais. Not as crammed but feels pricier.

I followed a recommendation last week and took my omnivore boyfriend to Kindness Cafe on Palmer Street tonight. I had the best time!!! They are a vegetarian/vegan restaurant with Thai style food, all organic and the best service. We had roti, curry puffs, corn fritters, fried tofu and tofu cakes. Then an amazing warm crumbly tofu and spicy green apple salad, tom kha soup and a red curry. She gave us dessert on the house! It was a sago and taro with coconut milk and flaky coconut on top. Everything was served in such a kind, peaceful and beautiful way; even the ice cubes were in the shape of little flowers! I was so excited to be there and the owner De was so excited to have us, she hugged us and thanked us for coming. After we had the roti dipping sauce, my omni boyfriend said he prefers the taste of the vegan one to the one with beef he ate last week and that he'd come back. I am so so so happy to have found this place and encourage everyone to come give it a try!

Some things are worth queuing up for - this place being one of them. The specials are always amazing, but I cannot get past the soft shell crab.

Very good for the price - $6.50 lunch special offers a selection of about 20 different dishes. Had the Pad Thai, was good and the service was very quick.

Wonderful service and our meal was served very quickly. One of the best Thai restaurants I've even been too. Looking forward to returning soon :)))

I also had a couple of vouchers to try the pad thai and green curry. I also had trouble making the booking as the phone was never answered after weeks of trying. I also made a booking online and there was no reply. So, I went in there with my voucher and was very pleased to see that the restaurant was still open! The very friendly staff accepted the voucher and I am pleased to announce that the food was amazing! The moral to the story folks is that if you have one of the those vouchers you better just get in there before it runs out...... and that is soon :) They also have some very authentic Thai desserts that you can choose from the front counter and the daily blackboard menu too.
Civic Hotel 388 Pitt St Level 1 2000, Sydney
This restaurant is part of the recently refurbished Civic Hotel. My friends and I shared spring rolls, chilli basil veggies, penang curry chicken and pad kee mao. Each dish was bursting with flavour and a good size, we couldn't finish it all as we were too full. The atmosphere is bustling but not too noisy. The decor is cool, my friend had a statute of an elephant buddha staring back at her from the windowsill throughout the meal. The chef's son offered us free desserts, to try out and give feedback on some of their latest menu items. We got pandang creme brulee and ice cream wrapped in a light pastry with caramel sauce. Despite already being full we crammed in the two desserts and they were absolutely divine! I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice meal in the city pre or post drinks. The upstairs bar area is also really cool.
Great food - decent veggie selection. Their pad thai was amazing!
