Not what it used to be... Cake at $9 a slice was nice but I was very unimpressed by the service from start to finish. Coffee & cake were ordered from then picked up in 2 different places from impolite staff at both counters. Cappucino was flat, tepid & no choc dusting, 'hot' soy choc was actually cold & in a small cup not mug. Table we sat at was dirty, as we left staff took the cups/plates but left a dirty table for next customer.

Good food and cakes. Friendly staff. Excellent atmosphere. Would be better if have steak and salmon in the main menu.

Cakes are very good, I liked their pesto pasta.

I bought a Brunetti Rocher for a special occasion. It was a really lovely cake with rich chocolate mousse and topped with a milk chocolate glaze with hazelnuts. There were dark chocolate decorations on top and the base was a dense biscuit with lots of crunchy textures. Combined with coffee, this went down a treat! Previously Brunetti is another Melbourne institution. It has been around for decades and while their facade has changed over the years, the basics remain the same - classy cakes and pastries coupled with well made coffee. On our most recent visit, we had the strawberry eclair and apple strudel. Both were fresh and full of flavour. There were big chunks of apple in the strudel and the eclair looked almost too pretty to eat. But it was devoured in seconds anyway. Their coffee was strong and frothy. A great counteracting drink for the sweet stuff. Service was reasonably fast. Simply fantastic.

I came here years ago , I have never forgotten it , it was amazingly awesome .... years later it’s still bloody awesome 😎 The array of cakes is amazing, so naughty 👿 but oh so delicious.. when in doubt order heaps

For me it's not a place to go regularly. Service was poor for me waited quite a long for coffee had to remind them. Desserts were good

Rang the Carlton store on Monday 15th March in the evening to order a SOTTO BOSCO cake for my wife’s birthday. Called around 8-9pm and was on hold for approx 30 minutes before someone answered. Picked up cake on Thursday 18th evening (as arranged) and ate the cake on Friday 19th in the evening. Found the Cake sponge was extremely dry. Can’t say it was worth the approx $60 spent for this. Found the whole experience very disappointing. Reached out to management twice via email as prefer not to write 1 star reviews but no response.
