Brunetti is a well established cafe, cake and chocolate maker in Melbourne. It's largest and oldest location being here, just off the famous Lygon Street. The choice is bewildering, truly. However beware, as even on a Tuesday night at 10pm it can be a tin of sardines like experience and is ALWAYS busy. However, I recommend you definitely avoid Saturday and particularly Sunday mornings where some snoberatti like to hog every seat, people watch, and pose with the Sunday papers and coffee. It's like a nightclub or trendy bar at these times so best to avoid and go through the week or later at night when the normal people and student contingent appear. Service is okay and that's only because its hellishly busy, they do their best, and food and drinks are always serviced hot and fresh. Expect to pay a premium here, this ain't no run of the mill cafe, but still it can be reasonable-ish for a very nice interior and overall 'Brunetti experience!'.

The 10 hour slow roasted Lamb is absolutely divine!

I have eaten at The Grill once but I tend to visit The Cellar Bar much more often due to its lower prices and more relaxed environment. I find the food in both cases quite lovely and favour their tortellini above anything else for a main. I think it is one of the few restaurants in Melbourne where the pasta is properly cooked and not over sauced. Following dinner the deserts are fabulous, my favourite being their baked cheese cake which I find to be the best I have tried anywhere in the world. They also offer a good selection of cheeses and other assorted deserts. The Cellar Bar is rather casual but can get a bit crowded around dinner time. Luckily they stay open till 11 which makes it a great place to have a late dinner or coffee. The Grill is a lot more formal and the service is very complete. Reservations are not always needed but advised if you are going for dinner.

Dunno what happened to the other reviewers, but I've only had awesome experiences here. Trademark relaxed and friendly Code Black service and great food. They do get busy at lunchtime but the longest I've waited for a table was a few minutes, and service is incredibly swift.

The food, service and atmosphere is just lovely. My family and I have been to this restaurant 3 times, and the standards are still high. Absolutely love it.

Tasty food and generous serving. A relaxing environment, beautiful outlook over the river. Great for just a quick, casual meal or to linger longer. Takeaway available.

Fast friendly service, tasty food, great atmosphere (they had musicians sitting playing at another table). Inexpensive for the quality of the food, highly recommended.

I love Gills! Despite reading some very disappointing reviews I have always experienced warm service and excellent food.

Loved it. First time eating Spanish cuisine.. Chicken paella was fantastic. Staff very very friendly.
Kinda weird, its open 24hrs and screams takeaway that seems to have grown bigger and classier as time went on. Souvlaki is great and the moussaka was also pretty special. A great range of awesome greek soft drinks too. Staff are 110% super efficient, pleasant and speedy. Menu was quite limited but prices were reasonable. Will be back.
