Tthe coffee is obviously great so we wanted to try something special. We had the frapuccino and it was awesome! A shot of thick espresso on top of the super cold icecream. One of the best i've ever had. The coffee shop is very crowded on the weekends so don't expect a quiet environment.

Well...Went to the new revamped (again) Newtown hotel last Sunday with friends for lunch and walking into the place it was quite obvious the owners have spent a fortune on renovations since I was here last time...The last time I was here the theme was best described as 'gidget in the Caribbean'...this time the theme is best described as... 'everything and anywhere'...(well in the context of a 1950 s theme) ...you have to see it to believe it...actually very good in creating an ambience in this hotel...ok... Downstairs a great courtyard serving 'traditional pub tucker' and the upstairs a Greek style eatery called 'the animal' with a great outdoor wrap around veranda to dine in...I ordered the Greek style barramundi with vegetables and greens and my friends ordered different Greek inspired flavours for their main course....Yes we all agreed good value plus excellent service from the staff... All in all a great experience at the new Newtown Hotel...No longer a 'gay' pub but definitely worth a visit...now off to 'Fair day' to catch up with old friends and enjoy the festivities of the 'happening' Newtown strip!.ps..found a ladies bra on each of the seats in the 'caravan' which is located upstairs...bizarre!

Initially intended to go here and get cronuts before they sold out, but ended up staying for lunch. The meatball sandwich is a must try. There were 4 varieties of cronuts to choose from - gives Zumbo a run for his money.

I've never really gone in here. Street side its a bit of a derro pub but the other week, mate said to meet him here upstairs so I went. The upstairs is a young hip version of downstairs with open space and a nice out door area. Excellent! You can sit, have a beer and peer out on kingstreet. Didn't eat but the food looked pretty substantial in terms of portion. Cute coasters (cooperman!). Definitely revisitng

Not a big selection of food on the menu, especially for the price. It was ok.

Since it opened, my partner and I have been visiting several times a week and are hooked! The atmosphere, coffee, food and staff are all equally wonderful. The majority of what you eat/drink is all made in house with the exception of bread from Brickfields (Chippendale) and coffee from Two Chaps (Marrickville) . Make sure you check out the mural in the back room which was commissioned for the space.

Delish burgers as always. Sooo many awesome options to choose from. Super friendly staff. I’ll definitely be a frequent visitor.

Good venue for intimate gigs, it feels like an old school play house inside: royal red colour scene, velvet trimmings etc. sounds is always good inside, just get in early if it's going to be a busy gig as you can get shafted to the back of a galley-like room with no tilted floor if you're unlucky.

Great service and food. Cocktails are amazing and the atmosphere is spot on.

Delicious authentic Thai food and good sized portions too. We will definitely be back.

The sloppy joe is huge, it fills my tummy so well. Crispy toast, spiced minced wagyu with mushroom and sun fried egg on top. Added a cup of strong nutty coffee, the best way to start a day.
Forget eating here any more. Servings are a joke and twice the price they should be. Long gone are the days of the old Sumalee! But as a bar and beer garden, very nice. Drinks are slightly pricey, but surrounds make up for it.
