Essence - where the food is left in the frier or grill way too long and everything comes with an overdose of salt. Nothing on the menu worth eating. Blueys serves awful coffee with poor service.
I've been in Canberra the past 3 weekends and this is the place all of my friends have suggested going for brunch. Most of the menu is (or can be) vegetarian and having tried most items, I've had no choice regrets.
Food was nice enough. Staff were friendly and we were promptly seated. Food was tasty and cooked well. Miles ahead in so many ways compared to the sister store at Woden
I stumbled across this cafe, as I was staying nearby, and was absolutely blown away. The staff, the view, the atmosphere and the food/coffee. I couldn't fault this cafe, and you can tell the staff working there love it too. Sitting outside near the water is great, however the interior is decorated so well that it is a hard choice. There is a good selection of food and the coffee is made well every time.
$35 banquet was some nice entrees, followed by average pasta and reasonably good pizza. I hoped for more for the price. Noisy acoustics, but nice ambience and good service.
Auto wash is excellent. Silver wash had my car sparkling after masses of dust from 1500kms of dirt roads. Vacuum machines good value and effective. Owner/operator very friendly and helpful.
I actually really like Woolworths in Mawson, it's large and clean and modern. But, like most Woolworths, it's your standard range of usual food. If you want something a little bit unique, or unusual, then this isn't the place for you.
Tried the full breakfast and was happy with it. The bacon, eggs and toast were of excellent quality, though the sausages were a little dry and the rosti a bit soggy. Was very happy with the coffee. Overall, would recommend.
You can't expect much from Macca's and this place certainly lives up to that reputation. It's actually a horrible place to go after dark with mess everywhere, but I hear they might have cleaned up their act recently. Service is horrible when there's drunk people about. I've seen the police come a few times. It used to be the only place open late at night in Civic, but there's a new Macca's literally 100m down the road. So now you have the choice of two Macca's at 1am in the morning. Gotta love the Canberra night life...
Karts are awesome, as is the centre. Previous experiences at other kating tracks are always uncomfortable and unprofessional, but PKR has totally changed my view of go-kating. It is professional, clean, appropriately priced and above all, fun.
