Double Shot Deakin

My daughter and I had morning tea at Double Shot yesterday at 11.30 am. On arrival there was a QR Check in scan outside which was comforting and customers were following the rules. Additionally, there was a sign saying "wait until seated", and a long que was being formed. Unfortunately staff did not read the sign, until someone just walked in and a staff member said, "come in". So that was a bit mixed up. I headed to the front counter to make our selection and choose two chai lattes and two bananna cakes. Total just over $30. What the Hell. Literally $10 a slice of bananna bread, come on, this is a blatant rip off. I will not be coming back. Double Shot how do you justify charging this amount, exorbitant rent, lots of staff, I think not. Our Chai was luke warm and $10 for a slice of square loaf tin cake , that had all the finese of a toddler in the kitchen, Jesus all I could say to my duaghter was "who ate the bannanas? On the positive, our order was taken and delivered with a smile. Note to owners, please revist the menu pricing, some items are priced fairly (and by that I dont mean cheaply, but value for money). Thats were it ends for us. Double Shot, Deakin, we came, we ate, we were ripped off.

I've been here a few times and always have the same issue. The coffee is good but customer service is always abysmal.

I just got charged $27 for two small coffees and two slices. So I expected both would be superb. The coffees were above average but the slices at $9.50 slices each were inedible. I am a little shocked they would be sold as a treat. Gluten-free and raw is no excuse for tasteless bricks, regardless of how attractive they look in the cabinet.

Commented politely that it was disappointing that they stopped table service. Owner told me very rudely to go elsewhere if I wanted table service. Then gave me this note with my coffee.

We ordered a DS Burrito and a Southern Fried Chicken Burger. They were both delicious, especially the burger. I would recommend avoiding Saturdays as they are flat out and there is no seats. Yours truly @fooderarri

Best coffee around and great staff

Hi, I normally love the coffees here but today had the worst experience. I don't know who made the coffees but I ordered 2 oat FW and a regular FW and they were flat - the milk hadn't been frothed at all. On top of that, the lid hadn't been secured so when my friend went to drink from here, it came off and the coffee spilt all over her laptop! And the laptop is no longer working! The lid wasn't on properly because the barrista had double-cupped it by accident. I took them away so didn't realise any of this beforehand otherwise I would've asked for a re-do. Super disappointed.

The food is great but just wanna know if i can get a big breakfast there? Yer a bit old fashioned but one day you have to put it on the menu.

Had lunch today, Easter Saturday, with family from interstate and was very disappointed. We’ve been regular customers for years but so many things went wrong today due to inexperienced staff. Various wrong orders and even one order that never came even though it was brought to the attention of the staff. New staff need to be thoroughly trained and supervised, especially at a busy time like Easter. 😳
