This place is the hidden gem of coffee shops in Hobart. Those that go here already know what I am talking about, and those that don't are yet to discover the beautiful atmosphere and best coffee in Hobart that the Retro Fudge Bar offers. From the moment you walk in the ambiance melts over you with the soft music and gentle blue pastel wall backdrop. The feeling is so relaxing and comfortable it's just beautiful. The girls are very friendly and helpful and attentive, offering water while you wait for food or just to decide on what coffee or tea you would like. The coffee in my opinion is the best I've had anywhere and I've tried all the other popular places here and many in Sydney too. The food is gorgeous and my favorite is the scrambled eggs with chilli mayo, it's absolutely spot on and a good feed for the very reasonable price! I honestly can't recommend this place enough to anyone that appreciates great coffee and that's not even talking about the fudge! After all it is the Fudge bar, the fudge is delightful and such a treat! The girls make it all on site and offer about 10 flavors with Turkish delight and Mocha being my favorites. If you have a free moment or just want a coffee before or after visiting the library here on Murray st then treat yourself to the best coffee in hobart and the sweetest and most helpful staff and visit the Retro Fudge Bar.

I went there earlier today with my partner, mother in law and sister in law and the girl serving us (Poppy) was so kind and generous, she let us try everything we wanted, she gave us water, there was so pressure to buy, just kindness and sweetness. That enough would be enough for a great rating, but the fudge? THE FUDGE?! Delicious, partner and I got 7 because we couldn't narrow it down, they were all fantastic. I'm eating some Turkish delight right now and wishing I was a local so I could go back. A must see for any sweet tooth and anyone who loves cute little retro decorated places..totally charming, incredibly sweet and very kind! Couldn't ask for more.

This cafe is my go to for coffee. It boast a cutie atmosphere and lovely staff (and not to mention their to-die-for fudge). I always take my friends here in order to share the word around as I’m sure this is one of the best cafes in Hobart.

It’s a cute cafe but the food was alright. Eggs Benedict was not the best considering they used a salad dressing instead of the actual hollandaise sauce. The scrambled egg was too creamy and heavy I think it might be cuz of too much cream. Mushroom was defo a good choice. Sourdough tasted like it’s homemade not as tangy as the store bought ones, which is good. Coffee is good.

These guys are so nice and the fudge is delicious! They let us try a few flavours before buying. Highly recommend stopping in. Going back to try the waffles soon!
