It was a Monday night on a long weekend so it wasn't busy. The rooftop bar wasn't full and the downstairs bars were all but vacant. Lots of staff but service was slow and unhelpful. The steaks were tasty but not cooked how we asked for them. There were a few choices of sauce on the menu but none were available when we ordered. We asked for pepper sauce but were offered gravy. Fourty four dollars for two glasses of malbec was outrageous especially when the bottle was $59. Maybe that little bit of information should have been offered when I enquired. The malbec was worth a star even at $22 a glass. Compared to the last time that I was there this time was the pits. The best part of the night was when one of the staff found 4 Pines stout. That is one of the stars. There is usually a silver lining, the stout was it.

Enjoyed some streetside lunch today (as we had our dog with us) and just awesome. Staff are professional and super friendly, good beer selection and just plain good aussie food. Truly well done and highly recommended.

I like the idea of Falafel burger. However in my 3 times I found that the falafel patty is so crunchy that it looses all the taste.

Good Evening, I had a booking on the rooftop with a girlfriend on Saturday. Not only do you have amazing views and fantastic food the standout for me was your staff. The girl who looked after us was fantastic. Everyone was fantastic and made our visit a very enjoyable occasion. Well done Glenmore. You will now be my fave place to visit when in Sydney. Thanks Sharron Sent from my iPad

Food is average at best. Reasonably priced for location though. Do not offer any sauces like mushroom or Diane sauce which is a first for a pub that I've encountered. Only option was gravy.

They helped me put together a retirement party for a staff and it was absolutely perfect. They kindly worked around my request to make my planning easy The staff were attentive and helpful, food was excellent and the table arrangement with the city lights just topped it all. Thank you Hannah and Rosie whom looked after our group on the night

Description

The Glenmore Hotel was built by Brewers Tooth & Co in 1921 and has been an Aussie icon ever since. It is one of the last surviving pre- Harbour Bridge buildings on Cumberland Street, north of the Cahill Expressway. The site is known to have been occupied from the early years of 1800, although it is likely that, like the other ridges of The Rocks, it was occupied by the encampment of settlers in the first weeks of the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788. With its colonial old English charm and character, The Glenmore has been a popular watering hole, which has survived depressions, wars and plagues. This hidden gem in The Rocks was starting to show her age and in early 2012 it was closed for refurbishment for 9 months of loving restoration. The building itself is heritage listed for it’s traditional Rocks pub allure.
