Ross Bakery

Dropped in to the Ross Bakery Cafe on the way back down to Hobart. Last time I was in Ross there was a crowd and so I passed. This time it was quiet and so got to enjoy the quietness and the great service. On leaving a bought one of their "world best vanilla slice" and I agree, it is the best.

Scallop pies are a nope from me. However..... the devil pie and jalapeno sausage roll, were superb!

Lovely little bakery in a quaint little town. Love the building, pies were good. You'll recognise this spot if you're an anime fan, otherwise, take a moment to appreciate the building and the surrounding.

Hell of a pie is awesome! Amazing pepper steak pie with a bacon quiche on top. What a meal!! Loved it

Crowded maybe due to lunch crowd. Nice vanilla slice. Had curried scallops and devils of a pie. Had gluten free pies too - bacon and egg and asparagus. Topped it with blond chai latte. Came here coz a friend said it’s Japanese anime. No more!

Not usually a fan of vanilla slices but this was delicious! The cream was custardy, not overly sweet and the pastry was delightful. Would recommend!

World greatest vanilla slice was awesome, the vanilla was sweet and soft, with the crunchy soft layer. Definitely must try if u are here. Secondly was the scallop curry pie. The curry wasn’t spicy but with the aroma herb mix with Tasmania fresh scallop, wrap with the multi layer bake skin. What a perfect combination. Last but not lease with the home made tomato vegetable soup with rich of tomato and vegetable. Finish with their home made bun. Enjoy the beautiful autumn view with those world class high tea.

Yummy scallop pie and vanilla slice

Had high expectations of this from other reviews . So disappointed Ordered chicken and veg pie and chix sandwich. Pie was just awful more like a quiche ..dry and only just warm . Sandwich full of grey chix meat. Waste of money. Don't bother.

Vanilla slice was the best we have ever had!
