See All38 Church St 7209, Ross
We were passing through Ross and this didn't look like the most fancy place by far, but we wanted something to take away so we could go for a walk. So we had the veggie burger, and not only did was the cook very sweet, asking us if we'd like little extra additions like grilled onions or salsa sauce, but to our surprise, it was an INCREDIBLY good burger. It's easy to make a veggie burger taste bland and boring, but not this one. Seriously good.
Situated on the Main St of Ross, the Ross bakery Inn, a heritage building from the early 1800's which was a horse drawn carriage Stop. Accommodation is still available, with breakfast, catering for backpackers through to families. Along side the Inn is the Ross Village Bakery. The word from the locals is, "You must try their Pizza's" baked every Sat evening from 6pm to 8pm. Our timing was lunch Sunday, where we enjoyed a fresh made scallop pie, acompanied by a good size colorful salad, delightful. Then Coffee with their Signature Vanilla Slice, mouth watering. The range of fresh prepared award winning breads, pies, quiche, rolls, cakes etc are all very tempting, which is the reason this bakery is so popular. We ate in their covered court yard garden, ideal for families, as a playground is provided at the rear. In the front of this significant historical building, an attractive, purpose built Al Fresco area, with inside dining and a takeaway. The service was excellent, friendly and professional. We must return for the Sat night Pizza.
