River Royal Inn

Riccardo ,,cooked our meal it was very nice.

Yesterday we had lunch at the River Royal Inn with a Entertainment book voucher. I had the hot and cold seafood plate which was amazing and cold food was so fresh. My husband had salmon with prawns and a Thai sauce. Large serving and delicious. The staff and the chef who came to see how we were going were lovely. Highly recommend.

Will not be back! Staff are rude and unhelpful, ignored me until I walked to the kitchen door and asked the cook for a estimated time for our meal as we had already waited over an hour and a half!!! There was no warning when we ordered that we would have to wait that long. Horrible place, horrible atmosphere, horrible food, do not recommend!!!! Although the music duo were awesome, thank goodness for them

Had lunch here in December and it was great with good service. Came back this last Saturday and ordered lunch. It was quite busy but everyone seemed to be getting their food within a reasonable time. A half hour later I checked to see how long it would be before our meal came out and was told there was still three orders before ours and there was only one chef in the kitchen. I explained I would have to get a refund as I had to work - I hadn't expected a forty minute (or possibly more) wait. I went to grab my wallet and when I returned to the counter I was asked my ticket number so they could take it out of the kitchen which is understandable but they decided to do it before issuing the refund and when they returned they didn't make eye contact or offer any kind of apology for the wait time. I would suggest mentioning wait times to patrons if there is going to be more than a thirty minute wait and a kinder response to issues that arise. I approached the whole thing without rudeness but recieved it in return. Lovely looking establishment and location but I will not be returning after this experience.

A Sunday stroll around Morpeth had my partner and I deciding on this place for lunch. So glad we ended up here! Food was really excellent, there was a delightful band playing ( The Fruit Tree I think) and it was pleasant sitting in the beer garden. Only downside was my partner thought the cider on tap was a little watery. We will be back.😊

great food and service

Lovely old pub with plenty of character. Staff are friendly and there was great musical entertainment. Food was tasty and great value for the price. Fyi despite having a voucher in the entertainment book they weren't accepted which was disappointing. That was what drew us there for lunch initially but given the quality and price of our meals we have no complaint.
