311 Elizabeth St 3000, Melbourne
Original and easy concept made of good quality ingredients in large quantity for a small price. It can't be much better than that
Interesting meals. It feels like the Japanese version of the Korean bibimbap. Serving variants of a rice pepper dish topped with predominantly corn topping and surrounded by a marginal bed of choice meat on a hot plate. I had the special limited edition Gyu Tan and wife had the classic beef. Tasty meal but borderline towards being a little too salty (even for me I usually like my food salty/tasty). Service was quick and appropriate.
Takeaway portion is a scam. I paid 40 bucks for a tiny steak and 150 grams of sweet corn. Food quality is also below average.
The order system is good. We could change ingredients in dishes.
Delicious food. Not very healthy. But good to reward yourself, every now and then, on your cheat day of the week.
DO NOT ORDER TAKE AWAY FROM THIS STORE. I have been to pepper lunch on Elizabeth Street many times and I love their food. Their portion size is great and the food taste amazing. However their takeaway portion size is just ridiculous. We ordered a classic beef pepper rice and a JUMBO classic beef pepper rice with extra rice from them and when the order arrived, we could not tell the difference at all. We took out our kitchen scale and weighted the two, the classic weighted 422g which we paid $14.80 and the JUMBO classic weighted 496g which we paid 21.70; we paid $6 more for the jumbo order with extra rice and this is how much more we got for $6. We understand that takeaways are generally smaller in portion however this is just unacceptable. We even called the restaurant and the manager told us that it is what it is and there is nothing they can do about it.
Overpriced and the food is mediocre. Probably wouldn’t go again, although some of my friends enjoyed the food.
Awful. I know it's fast food but terrible. Go to any ramen bar for much better
Such a good place for lunch or dinner after a work out. The sizzling kimchi pepper rice with cheese is delicious, no extra sauce required. Beef is a little chewy so go for the chicken.
Always good & delicious. Cheap & nice!
