140 George St, The Rocks
The ease to move around with each section of the gallery is relaxing and safe. Greatest views from the cafe on the rooftop level of Sydney Harbour.
We love it here. Check out the cafe on level 4 for beautiful harbour views. Even if you're not eating there you can still walk out to check the view. Staff extremely helpful and stay on top of the venue being covid safe, they check and enforce any areas that have restricted numbers.
Beautiful place with lots of room to walk around. Lots of creative arts and crafts for all ages. One of the best place in the heart of Sydney in the Rocks. Central and close to the historical part of Sydney. Only downer is the cafe. Million dollar view but the offering very bland. Price for what you get can't be justified. Overall good place to take the kids.
Have seen some really good exhibitions here!! The cafe in level 4 is quite nice with awesome views. No booking is required, apparently it is juat a walk in.
MCA Cafe live music and great cocktails. Fairly priced for the spot in the city. The museum itself had an interesting architectural piece of the world map.
Nice museum. Cafe food was okay. Look you wont be blown away. But if you're in the area its always nice to take a stroll through the museum.
Beautiful art work. I got spend half hr with a toddler who whilst very good with not touching was bored very quickly. Not a family friendly museum although I'll be back by myself on an acid trip
Beautiful exhibitions and lovely cafe roof terrace. Was a shame it was disrupted by an obnoxious "member" not adhering to the Covid guidelines given by staff to use the entrance door and not the exit. He made her job more difficult and embarrassed himself. Well done to the staff dealing with it professionally.
This place is literally hit and miss. The museum stretches over 4 levels and with its front doors facing circular quay / the Opera house it is certainly in an absolute prime location. Entry to the main part is free (at least for the exhibitions that were on when we visited). The pieces on display is where it becomes difficult. There are a lot of contemporary art pieces that simply try to hard, ie "the artist attempts to further portray the suppression of [insert random minority group here]" rather than just being a well thought through piece of art. Overall: hit and miss! Go if you're into it but prepare for a load of bs.
Entry to the MCA is free. There is a great cafe on the top floor however it gets really sunny and hot so be prepared for that. We came to the MCA to see Richard Bell's "You Can Go Now" exhibition. Really impressed. Also thank you MCA for your All Gendered toilets hopefully this can be the norm in other public buildings moving forward!
