391 King St How To Write A Review 2042, Newtown
Every day is a thanksgiving day, still canβt believe how this amazing place offers totally vegan food and you can pay whatever you like. Spicy night was a bit spicy, but we still had a really good night with this non-profit community. Everyone here was so warm and make you feel just at home.
This is such a great idea and the food is always amazing. Don't be stingy peeps, I see you out there leaving next to nothing in return ;(
How can someone complain about this place? It is amazing for everyone who can appreciate how beautiful it his initiative. Best food, quality-price ratio (volunteer fee :D)
Amazing dining experience! Very friendly and lovable volunteers ans in-house staff. Loved the whole concept of pay as you want and you can also pay extra which goes to support the local community. Food was very good, packed with flavours and big portions! Loved the little poppy seed cake too! Will be back!
Loved the fresh food very tasty great atmosphere
So i know its a charity based organisation but still.. the wait staff all looked like they'd been hung out to dry and couldnt even form a smile on approach. The food was barely luke warm, the food tasted great but wasnt even hot, the chai tasted like water and they had no dessert but still the recommended donation was 15.00. it was my first time at lentils and it will sadly be my last.
I get the intentions and all but experience was okay . Went on busy night . Took long for food . I understand there's heaps of volunteers who doesn't have proper training etc . But food was cold and table water was just from the tap . Other tables had nice refrigerated water and when we sat down we looks around every table had table water . I ask one of the volunteer/waiter walking with a bum bag if we can get some table water. Then he goes : what water ? * Looking confused for some reason lol. Didn't stay for Desert didn't Wana wait cause alot of people were complaining that they didn't get their desert . Table service not really attentive. But we still gave a generous donation.
Live music! Awesome atmosphere! Friendly and attentive service! Sumptuous food! There were four of us and we ordered the four dishes offered on Easter Monday. Coupled with the spiced chai tea it was an excellent meal. Thumbs up!
A place to enjoy nice food and pay whatever you like. The food comes out quick under 3 mins. A large plate. It does get busy during lunch and dinners. Staff are patient and friend. I will come again
Nice beans a pulses, cheerful place lovely volunteers. They don't say know how many people they employ accross the business and claim to run mainly on volunteers, but they paid $1.35M in wages in 2019 and similar previous year so some more transparency and details of their operation model would be welcomed. Check their reports at ACNC website.
