Komatsu Japanese Cuisine

Squeezed us in at the last minute and gave us a really friendly service. The place was super busy and they handled it really well. The food was GREAT and good value as well. Definitely reccomend!

Really really good! Staff were super kind, friendly, and knew a lot about the food plus knew what we'd ordered. Food was great! There were 9 of us and so we tried a little bit of everything! Personally loved the pork katsu curry, not to spicy which was great. Sushi was great and fresh, everything was tasty. Over all, I am going to go here again. Plus I'll recommend this place to others.

Went 2 times, once for dinner then again for lunch. Best tuna sashimi I have had at a smaller place in Australia. Would love if they had the small Japanese keg beer, but alas, I got the sake and that was yum.

Fantastic food, cannot find a better Japanese restaurant around Hob. Top quality service (at the end of meal, the staff will come to ask for any dessert or tea or water required😂)Boss is humorous and approachable by the way😄

Ok folks, this is my first review ever. Arrived at Komatsu with high expectations after browsing the generous reviews only to leave disappointed. While the tempura prawns and squid rings were reasonably decent enough (pretty hard to stuff up deep fried seafood bites right?), have to say the sushi platter had portions the size of muchkin nibbles and tasted meh. Was really looking forward to my ramen after someone wrote in a review "best ramen in Hobart". My tonkatsu ramen broth was bland. The pork scrags were cut from Hobarts skinniest pig and wait for it...the half egg while looking ok turned out to be cold as an eskimo pie due to it obviously being precooked and stored in the fridge then plonked into my ramen direct from the fridge without even attempting to disguise this fact by attempting to preheat it. Boo! Thats just lazy guys. Yet another fake Japanese restaurant not run by Japanese, trying to pretend to be the real deal. I have eaten ramen in Japan and it tastes a hell of alot better than this. On a positive note though...the eel dragon roll was yum and the staff were pleasant.

Very friendly & fast with our lunch meals well worth your time even for a sit down as it didn't take long 4 our meals to arrive.

Pretty authentic Japanese restaurant, the staff is very friendly and I like to invite friends to dinner here. There are also private rooms in the store, suitable for small gatherings. I would recommend Donbri and various bento boxes. They are both delicious and cheap. The sushi and sashimi are also very fresh and worth trying.
