Hog's Breath Cafe

The slow cooked steak I ordered was obviously spoiled, so I re-ordered a regular steak, which was tough and a quarter was gristle, which was disappointing. Staff were accommodating, which was appreciated. Baby back ribs and curly fries were delicious.

Food was great and plenty of it. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Only thing wrong was the stairs we had to climb. Not for the infirm.

Massive let down. Not what is used to be food wise and seems to have lost it's vibe too. Staff reluctantly knocked 2 beers off a $160 bill for 3 unhappy customers but not without some smug attitude.

How utterly devastating was our visit to this restaurant. For months, I've been talking about wanting to eat the slow cooked prime rib and thought this would be the best place to celebrate a special event. So my partner and I ordered the duo which includes both the steak and baby back pork ribs. After receiving confirmation from the wait staff that I could have my steak rare, I was disappointed to see that we received our steaks well done - not even a tinge of pink in sight. I didn't even take a bite of the steak and alerted this to the wait staff who stated they would 'knock off the drinks' on our bill. Another wait staff person came to us 15 minutes later who explained given the 18 hour slow cook process, the best they could do was medium rare. I acknowledged this and was happy to receive medium rare steak. Another 15 minutes ensued when we were greeted by the manager who claimed even medium rare steak was too difficult. In the interest of progressing things along, my partner and I decided we were happy to take back what we initially had. I wish I could have made this up but both our steaks were returned in smaller portions as though the chef/cook took a small chunk from each of the steaks - it was very bizarre. At this point, I was too hungry to care but it was extremely odd to see the steak had been already cut into. I do wish to highlight the manager was very apologetic but despite being told by wait staff they'd knock off the drinks, we were saddened to find that these were still included in the bill. So we paid $100 for well done steak at reduced sizes with a couple of drinks. You can tell when a business cuts corners and is close to being on its last legs - this is definitely one of them. I think it's time to say goodbye to Hog's Breath. I've had many great memories dining here but my last visit wasn't one of them unfortunately.

Meals where absolutely beautiful staff where friendly and the place had a wonderful view of the area

Ok nothing to rave over. Sorry Steaks were either tuff or not tasty. Have had better steaks elsewhere of late. Sorry.

For $50 my Steak was small, had 30% Fat glob and was overcooked. Of three people only one got the right sized steak. This was a poor experience.. The wait staff were terrible as well. I always tip where ever I eat. This is the first time no tip was given in a loooong time. For the price, not worth it.

Seriously don't know how this place makes any money with the size of the meals. They're MASSIVE. Everything is always delicious, comes out quickly, and staff are friendly. Love the balcony view.
