I don’t usually give one star. But this deserved one star. Poor services and the food was not deserved the price tag. Definitely overrated by the reviewer here. Please see others bad comment before you decide to come over here.

went to Golden Century Seafood Restaurant Saturday 15 may 2021 for dinner with my family and friends consisting of some 22 people. The biggest problem is the blatant lack of service people. We seemed to be an inconvenice to the staff who constantly ignored our attempts to get their attention. The food has really gone down hill with the quality and the price a disapointment The major hassle was the time between serves ,we waited and waited to the point that we were going to leave and forgo the next dish. One of the dishes was salt and pepper tofu which never arrived so we asked for it to be crossed off our order, but when we got home we found that a charge of $23 had in fact been charged to us.. We have been to this restaurant many times ,but this is the last for us and remember there were 20 other people with us so not only do they lose us they also lose them .

Great Chinese food, but a bit on the pricey side. Particularly loved that the food wasn’t overly greasy.

I'm not a regular diner at GC but have been once or twice 20 years ago so was keen to take some overseas visitors recently. There's a lot to like - the ability to BYO your own wine is one of them, and some of the food. We enjoyed the steamed dumplings, the XO scallops, S&P prawns, roast duck and crispy skinned chicken. Not amazing, but good. Misses included the fried rice (seriously? What happened to this dish?), roast pork (not supple enough and not crispy) and the BBQ pork (chewy) and the fried ice cream (not fried at all). I get that it's the live seafood that is good here but it's rather overpriced. Service was fine. I don't remember the decor being quite so bland and ugly but dining here today is like eating in a commercial office building floor that was last refurbished in the 1980s. The area on the street level fish tanks seems nicer (we were on Level 1). One of the the weirdest things though (apart from the incredible loud happy birthday PA recording which we enjoyed three times - I mean, fingers in the ears loud) was the constant traffic of rubbish bins through the restaurant and into the lift just behind us - plastic 44G bins and large council wheelie bins. It's almost like they had forgotten that there are paying customers 2M away. It was all very strange.

They had sold out of a lot of stuff as it was Chinese New year's but everything we ordered was really tasty! We didn't get a fortune cookie though cause they ran out of those as well. But I would come back here for a special occasion as it's super expensive!

Everything is well cooked. Super tasty. The lobster noodle tasted excellent! Try also the XO sauce they have, delicious! You get to be shown the lobster or any other seafood you choose before it is cooked. So, very fresh ingredients. However, the place is very crowded. Better book in advance (sometimes weeks in advance). A must go if you come to Sydney!

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The waiter Ming was incredibly rude. We also ordered half a duck for $50 and were brought out 5 little pancakes - 1 of which had no duck in it!! Complete rip off. I asked Ming why there was no duck in my pancake and he did nothing about it and just walked off.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in Sydney. Up market cuisine with high quality dishes, friendly staff and quick serve. Abalone is one of the best dishes.
