Our favourite place to visit, can get super busy but line usually moves pretty quick. Sometimes have food trucks parked out the front which is cool.
Dropped into Messina Rosebery as we were in the neighbourhood on a Wednesday around lunch. Parking was easy and there was no queue into the store. Ordered the 2-scoop option - pandan coconut and passionfruit for me, mum had the coconut lychee and mango. All the flavours were outstanding but the coconut flavours were out of this world. Yum, yum and yum. Messina never disappoints and I like that their flavours are not overly sweet. Simple perfection 👍 🍨 😋
Brought 1.5 litre tub took it home and was enjoying the extra dulce de leche. When I took a bite of the praline pistachio flavour though (middle scoop) I nearly snapped my tooth on a piece of nutshell (possibly macadamia, far harder than a pistachio shell) real turn off. I don’t want to eat the rest now and it wasn’t cheap. But the part we did eat was nice I guess. Just grossed out now. Also the third flavour macadamia crunch was such a measly serve compared to the other two (left scoop). Don’t think I’ll be back this was not a good experience given a twenty minute wait in line to spend a tonne of money then nearly break a tooth. Tried one of the specials and the nutella flavor. Both where delicious and perfect in texture. Will defo come back.

I'll give a 3 since I only came here for the Hoy Pinoy, Filipino food event. I should say it's poorly planned. The Lechon wasn't ready until 1:30 so we had to line 2x. And Leche flan does not go along with Milo. Iced tea was flavored with lemon grass which is not really authentic filipino. Well maybe they are going for 'asian fusion' idk.
Cool that you can see some of the production stuff from inside the place as you're ordering. Nice seating area outside but limited due to social distancing. They also sell bottles of the same milk that they use in the production process but I'm not sure how expensive that is or if it's any good/bad. Messina is Messina so you'll have to go to find out what things taste like.
