Location, location, location. If you are in the area then here's a painless way to lick your Messina cravings. No queues, no stress in fact, at 1pm on this Sunday there was nobody. Take your time and pick a flavour. The friendly staff have more time to chat and recommend.

This place serves unique and authentic regional Italian food. It's very simple but amazingly tasty. Flavio (the owner) is passionate about his dishes and the regions in Italy they came from. If you are looking for something delicious in Kings Cross definitely give this place a go.

The pizza here is amazing, simple, italian, and lots of gourmet options available. Expect a wait if you just show up on a bus night, and you're best off coming on a less busy night of the week.

Remember a little while back when I did a post on Vacanza, an Italian restaurant in Charing Cross? Well, the owner, Nick, just opened a new restaurant in Surry Hills so one night, I said to my family lets meander on over there shall we? And that's exactly what we did. After our meandering was over, we sat down and thought to ourselves what to eat, what to eat? Well, we had a look at the menu and thought that whatever we ate would be delicious but a real stand out on the menu was the Il Capitano, with Italian Sausage, Fior di Latte, tomato and the perfect drizzling of truffle oil. I put a slice of this with their Pear, Breasola, Wild Rocket and Parmesan salad on a plate and it was just perfection... To round my meal off, I just couldn't resist one of their Tiramisu's. The perfect amount of marscapone with sponge fingers makes it a perfect end to my Vacanza experience.

Absolutely beautiful! Fresh home style Italian cooking at its finest, the venue is cosy and a great way to spend a cold night with a impeccable selection of wine and pastas. The staff were friendly and professional, will defiantly be returning and recommending to others.

Italian food with a twist! Super friendly staff will help you make choices from their wide menu. Pumpkin gnocchi was GREAT! Prices are on the more expensive side, however the food is good quality and thoughtfully prepared.

Quietly confident! I decided to attend opening day this morning and was treated with $1 coffees and free keep cups. Lines went a bit slow and even though I turned up 20 minutes early, and I was third in line I still waited a further 10 minutes to go inside where I joined a second line for another 10 minutes . It seems there could have been a better way to speed things up. There seemed to be over 14 employees standing around not doing anything which is not a great look. It would have been nice if they were talking to customers. The take-away area was having issues with receipts not having names and I thought this was something that should have been sorted prior. I was behind two men who kept saying how disappointing and unprofessional the event was. I disagree, they expected free food on-top of the coffee. They also were displeased with the wait. They voiced this displeasure to several staff. They seemed like dicks. Like I said, I do think the staff could have been more helpful. I overheard a ?manager? Say they were having a few more deals on opening day but I couldn't hear what they were and saw no signs. In the end the opening day wasn't thrilling but the decor was nice, coffee was fine and it's exciting to see new things happening in the area. I will update when I try the food! But as said, I'm quietly confident!

Lovely new Italian wine and cheese bar. You must try their burrata and their roast chicken on kale. Awesome lamb parpadelle as well. Hip crowd. Great service and good cocktails too

Very funky terrace bar, groovy tunes, service a little haphazard but fun wait staff made up for it! Definitely a great spot for a drink (great cocktails) and a bite to eat (very good food). Good mixed crowd which I always like. Good views over Darling Harbour. It does close at 12 midnight due to licensing restrictions - super timing for me!! but others may mind. Great spot for summer drinks.

Meh. Same as Ripples everywhere. Avoid the big breakfast, the bread is dodgy.

Delicious authentic food and wine, and I love the semi outdoor atmosphere!
Best food and fantastic atmosphere. Order was incorrect but they fixed it quickly
