2A Cambridge St 3128, Box Hill
Terrible service, 8 people was seated in 5 person table. Disgusting food. Fresh fruit juice not fresh at all. Prawns were stuck to the bamboo stick. Hot pots were lit by a single candle and it took forever to cook. Food took forever to come too. Rude waiters complaining to customers. Dirty plates and chopsticks. Would never come again.
The staff made wrong recommendation. We ordered a lot. The staff said: ‘You did not order this and that.’ We clearly ordered too much as waste. I wish they consider from our side. Me and my friend’s stomach don’t fell well the next day.
Food taste ok but seem ingredients not fresh at all.
Great atmosphere... delicious food
Food - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Price - pretty damn pricey
Meat served is excellent. Go for a base soup which has anything less than 3 chillies next to on the menu i.e. if you want to enjoy the food. Lamb was the best served dish.
Love spicy food here
Hidden gem, tucked away upstairs, with nice treed window outlook, interesting decor, authentic food presented in really interesting and appealing fashion.
Dainty Szechuan's a great option for Hot Pot style dinner. For (some of) the tables you get an individual induction stove where you can order a pot of soup (your choice of stock), and then choose a bunch of things you want to cook. The sauces available to pick is large and varied enough for most. Expect to pay around $35+ for dinner if you've got a big group of friends or family. I've been there many times, always really full! Don't drink the soup base though, you might get a sore throat!
Busy hot pot restaurant. Very well decorated interior and the hot pot base and ingredients are plentiful. Great for family night out.
