249 Crown St 2010, Sydney
The Colonial British Indian restaurant celebrates a new casual dining experience in two convenient locations across Sydney. Immerse your taste-buds with flavours of long-forgotten cuisines inspired by undivided India’s north-west frontier province and the British colonial rule. A period that gave rise to British Indian gastronomy; best defined as a rustic and robust fusion of eastern spices into western cuisine.
The Madras meat was very dry and the taste was bland, service was average, even took my plate whilst I was still eating from it. Obviously under-staffed. Partners chicken korma was tasty but won't go again. Shame...
There is a vague British colonial vibe to this place and I wondered if this was meant to appeal to people in their working holiday visas. The food was quite tasty, but I already have my favourite Indian restaurant as a standard and I’d say this restaurant was not up to that standard. What made me give it only three stars is mainly the lack of generosity with the servings. I would be tempted when next in the Darlinghurst/ Potts Point area, to explore other restaurants before thinking about going back to this one.
The goat curry was excellent plenty of herbs and species. If you are a person that like eating curries this is the place. But the prices are a bit high when you consider the quantity that is provided to you.
Lovely hospitality from a young gentleman named Sabin. Thoroughly enjoyed our Friday night dinner here. Food was great but the service was above and beyond; will definitely return back.
Lovely curry's just like back home (UK) best curry house in Sydney! Very accommodating and great service especially with kids! Thank you will be back
Ordered vegetarian food. Very good options. Loved the food and ambience. Staff was friendly and we were looked very well. Will definitely love to dine in again⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These guys just won our hearts. Excellent Indian food and great service. Lana, the hostess of the restaurant went out of her way to make us feel special. The chefs were great! Overall one of the best experiences in Sydney. They truly made our day special! Looking forward to visit the restaurant again!
We bought a coupon via the restaurant website. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the staff are very friendly. We ordered butter chicken, malai kofta and beef vindaloo. All curries were good but not great. Serving sizes are quite small which I presume is to cover the discount. Drinks and extras are quite pricey.
The food was good and so was the service. Just a little disappointed with the chicken Madras. It wasn't really appetizing.
