See AllMarina Point, 6/2 Pier Point Road 4870, Cairns
"Best in Cairns" Inside are wooden floors, walls and ceiling, with a myriad of matching lights hanging from chains of varying lengths, their reflections in the high windows adding further drama to their magical effects. The open kitchen is visible from the restaurant with a huge circular copper extractor above the bench and cooking space, dividing the two area's. The kitchen walls are tiled with fabulous red miniature tiles, and the bench fronts are sheathed in crumpled netting with lights behind them creating another very striking feature. The largest part of the restaurant is outside on wooden decks, overlooking the marina at one end and dense tropical greenery at the side. Cream leather bench seats create a half wall and very comfortable seating and in the centre are dark cane sofas with deep cream cushions. A large bar presides over illuminated ponds, surrounded by cube stools. Batterned ceilings, soft lighting and candles complete the romantic, Balinese atmosphere. From an excellent menu we enjoyed for starters Oysters Kilpatrick- chorizo, sweet and sour onions, glazed with parmesan cheese, served on a narrow white rectangular plate, displaying the oysters to perfection. Along with a seafood bouillabaisse, herbed local redclaw, roasted garlic croute, herb oil, micro herb salad. Both these plates were delicious, prepared and presented to perfection. For mains we had a chilled seafood platter, king prawns, moreton bay bugs, natural oysters, sweet cured ocean trout, crab tzatziki and avocado tian, local red claw, wasabi tuna, horseradish and dill aioli, creating a very appealing dish The other main was, a salt mash herb crusted lamb rack, with potato and rosemary gratin, mustard glazed dutch carrots, mini gel, port & red currant jus, absolutely divine. For deserts we chose a Salt House dessert tasting plate, again a real pleasure for the taste buds. While dinning met a much travelled, Western Australian entrepreneur who believes this place is Cairns' finest. A stunning location, with fabulous food, ensures the continuing popularity of this establishment.

Decided to try the breakfast here based on some photos on Instragram. We managed to get a parking spot right outside the bakery which was a bonus. The place had a nice atmosphere. Very warm and friendly. It was also crowded at the time as it was raining thus rendering the outdoor seating not too pleasing. However in a stroke of luck, we managed to get a great seat right in the middle. We ordered the Dippy Eggs. This was fantastic. It was quite unique as it was served in an egg carton. There were two soft-boiled eggs on one side with diced bacon, labna and parsley all in their own wells/cups. On the other side of the carton were strips of sourdough bread with butter. As far as I could tell, we were supposed to dip the bread in the soft boiled egg and then use the small spoon to add the toppings to the bread. I may have done it wrong but it worked for me and I was very happy eating that way haha. We also ordered the fresh orange juice which was also excellent. I'm a big fan of orange juice with pulp and this juice was definitely recommended. We had coffee elsewhere as I needed it for the drive, but from what I could over-hear, the coffee was also great. I definitely recommend this place and will be back again. I will try upload a photo if Google lets me as well.

Might try it again, but probably not. Had to wait over an hour for food. If we hadn't said anything they wouldn't have asked. They lost our order. Offered drinks as compensation (which also took ages). Asked for a water for my partner which never turned up. Food was pretty good. Kids meals huge. Give them a month before you try. They are too new I think

Both pizza and lasagne were fantastic! Not you average Italian. The herbs and flavour packs a punch. Would recommend it to everyone

Went on a voucher for a banquet. You will not go home hungry, they'll keep bringing food until you say stop. Very tasty, just make sure you break up the BBQ meats by getting into the sides as well. Friendly service. Overall we had a great time!

Good food and they sometimes have good live music, but like most if not all RSL's nowadays, too many "pokies".

Large range of flavours, enjoyed the ones I tried (pandan coconut, macadamia crunch), decent cone.

Friendly, fast service. An interesting menu but the food is of average quality. Certainly not bad but not great either.

Staff have been great over recent visits. The food today was very good, made all the better with discounts and $5 pints.
200 Main St, Kangaroo Point
Great food, but terrible service. After the initial order it is almost impossible to flag down someone to get another drink or pay your bill.
Good atmosphere, nice food. A little bit on the rough and tumble but enjoyable all the same.
