A visit on Sunday to the Hunter specifically for lunch turned out to be a gross disappointment. Decor and the whole setting was great, would have even been better if it weren't for the weather (not that I am blaming them for that). We were a party of four adults, one four year old and a baby. We ordered bread and four mains with two sides after a wait of approximately 15 mins. !0 mins further elapsed to be told that the chef advised that they were out of Barramundi but they did have Blue Eye Cod and it "tasted the same anyway". About half an hour after ordering the bread finally arrived and surprise surprise the mains as well! Or at least three of them. The cold chicken terrine had to be chased up and arrived about 5 mins later. The linguine & the terrine were great, the Barra/Cod & Lamb rump was warm. After asking that the the bread be removed from the bill and told that it had, the bill was presented with it still on. It would seem to me that the wait staff have no idea of running front of house and that the kitchen was either undermanned or unorganised. A most disappointing experience and unlikely to return.

Acceptable food, acceptable service, more competitively priced than most places around here.

The lamb was absolutely beautiful. This chef is 10 out of 10! Take the recommendation to go here and enjoy as many courses as your budget will allow. Cheers!

We had dinner a couple of times at Harrigan's whilst on our way to see the nearby Christmas Lights at the Hunter Valley Gardens and it was great each time. The chicken and duck meals really hit the spot. It has a great pub vibe and enough options for the kids. In a sea of local restaurants all trying to be too fancy for their own good, it was nice to have this casual option available. I'd highly recommend booking ahead though as it tends to be a popular spot.

The only bad thing about this place is making your mind up on what to choose. If only you could eat them all. But I had the Mars Bar cheesecake, and had it matched with wine. A highlight of the Hunter Region.

The information from the host was very useful, we had just enough time to visit the Peterson's wineries. We ended our tour at the Wine Cellar for oysters and sparkling wine.

Friendly staff, generous portions, l had a variety of starters, some were better than others, I recommend the truffles and the croquets. Pasta and pizza also on the menu as well as an assortment of main meals. Wine choice was an experience best left for your enjoyment. Overall worth a visit which wont break the bank.

My wife and I have dined here several times recently, and the quality of the food has been very good. The menu has a European flavour, with lovely touches to the accompanying ingredients. We have enjoyed the local olives to start, and the complimentary amuse-bouche taster. The wine-list is predominantly locally sourced. We enjoy the Stoney Creek Sparkling Shiraz, which has a red wine taste but is light and refreshing. The dining room opens out on to the serene gardens and pond. The service is attentive and helpful. A marvelous dining experience.

What a nice place. White tablecloths, good service and tip top food. We got a group in here at short notice and everyone was very impressed. Must have is the steak. Succulent and cooked to perfection (obviously medium rare! ;)) If you are a fan of margans, but couldn't get in there then this is a good second option.
Jan and the Fat Blokes crew are tremendous. Professional and prompt!
