I had my 60th birthday here on the weekend with Family. Boris the waiter was amazing. He was a really attentive, professional waiter. He was also wonderful with the children. The food came out and everyone enjoyed all of their choices. Food overall was just excellent. Even the little extra taste sensations given before and after dinner were a lovely touch. Thanks for making my day special Boris & chefs.🙏

Beautiful food, loved it! Friendly staff, nice venue. The dumpling dish was really good, the broth had such rich flavour. The Jamaican carrot cake was such a good finish. It was all perfect!

Truly wonderful dining experience. Do yourself a favour and book early and get a table at this restaurant. Really interesting selection of dishes that tasted amazing and the service is incredibly attentive. Will return again!

Had one if the best meals I have ever eaten at the Cockfighters Ghost Restaurant. All three courses were perfectly cooked and the steak is one of the most tender I have ever had. The staff are most welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Definitely recommended and will be on my return list when we come back to the Hunter.

Hunters Quarter is our very favourite restaurant. It begins with the superb setting, the faultless staff and the amazing menu that would suit anyone seeking a special night out. Our 3 course dinner was exceptional. All courses were presented beautifully and the flavour combinations were amazing. We not only enjoy the dining experience but also the friendly exchanges with the staff and owner. Can't give high enough praise for this top shelf family run business!

Had lunch here for our anniversary and they gave us a table by the window. Appreciate their gesture! Both the entrees and main courses had elements that were full of flavour that went really well together yet different from the norm. We only had time for 2 courses and regretfully couldn't stay for dessert. Extremely good value for such high quality. Can see why it's no.1 restaurant in Hunter Valley. Will definitely be back when coming back to HV next time.

We had 3 courses. Each one was exquisite. Beautifully presented. Attentive, knowledgeable staff. Broad range of Hunter wines to choose from. Beautiful decor. Not cheap! Definitely one for 0 birthdays or anniversaries.

One of the most well thought out menus I have ever come across. From the inclusion of finger limes and charcoal salt in the raw seafood entree to the bitter melon in my roast duck main, as well as the yoghurt sorbet in the chocolate dessert, you could tell that the menu was meticulously planned. The roast duck was a treat, and fat was rendered perfectly. Service was fantastic, with the waiters being extremely attentive and personable. Wine recommendation was spot on! Thanks for a fantastic night.

Head chef, Brian Duncan brings a wealth of global and local experience in fine dining to HQ, having worked at the Dorchester Hotel and Claridges Hotel in the upmarket area of Mayfair in London, and also at Level 41 and The Establishment, two of Sydney’s premier restaurants. Brian’s breadth of experience and exposure to a variety of world cuisines bring a unique and refined quality to his product, and his philosophy on food is based on simple, fresh, local and seasonal produce. The HQ wine list mainly focuses on local wines, and also offers some interstate and international wines.
