Snapper on the Lake
4.1
/ 344

Mariner Pl Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club, Yarralumla 2600, Canberra

The fish and chips are generous servings and taste great. The view is great, too, right on the edge of the lake.

Morks Restaurant
4.5
/ 259

18/19 Eastlake Parade, Kingston 0, Canberra

Had a very nice Mothers Day 2014 lunch here. Excellent service even thought it was busy, the food presentation was excellent, one of the best in Canberra. The wine recommendation suited the food perfectly, a dry Viognier, I would have had a semi sweet wine, but I do think this better suited the food. I had the Angel prawns and pork ribs, both perfect in my opinion. My wife (Mother of honour) had the scallops (her favourite) with pigs ear strips and said they were excellent. I tried one and the pigs ear gave them a hint of bacon which didn't overpower the scallops. She had the fish which was also very nice. My girls shared a satay chicken and both liked their mains (they like spicy food). We just had room for dessert and they didn't disappoint. It was not cheap, but personally felt I got good value for money for a Sunday Mother's Day lunch. Highly recommend it to others. Car parking at Kingston Foreshore can be a problem so allow time to get there.

9 Lonsdale St Unit 2, Braddon 2612, Canberra

Food was great. Not too expensive. however, tables and seats were uncomfortable and it took way too long to get the food.

Hog's Breath Cafe Woden
3.9
/ 396

Ball Street 2606, Canberra

service was good but I think the food isn't as good as it use to be there isn't as much on the plate. Used to get heaps of curly fries but lucky to get 2 or 3 not good value for money

Kingsley's Chicken
4.0
/ 364

U 1 1 Rae St 2617, Canberra

The four star rating is for their food, of which their chips, gravy and burgers are great. The store is in need of a serious revamp. It's been the same for over 15 years.

Eightysix

Corner of Eloura & Lonsdale Street, Mode 3 Building, Braddon 2601, Canberra

Confident food and service that delivered. If you come here expecting hustle and bustle, share plates and very friendly staff who aren't afraid to interact and share their strong opinions with you then you will highly enjoy it. Not good for a quietour private intimate dinner but if you go with it and with some friends, makes for a great night out. For party of >3 ask for bench seats or outdoor. They sat our party of 4 initially on a table in the middle of the room that was way too small for the sharing dishes (barely fit the plates, cutlery and glasses as it were!). Food comes at different times and random order but all delicious. Enjoyed the fresh gnocchi, popular (for good reason!) fried chicken and fabulous desserts (we tried them all). Will definitely come back!

11 Lonsdale St 2612, Canberra

First time here. Looks popular. Food pics to follow. Lots of good beer choices on tap. Place is getting very busy around 12.30 - but hey - it's Canberra and it's a new place! Food was tasty and fresh. I had the jerk chicken burger and someone else had the chicken schnitty. The burger was cooked perfectly. Nice touch of spice and the chicken was super crispy on the outside - just how it should be. The schnitty looked good and I was told it was tasty too. There's a few things on the menu worth looking into - I'm planning on heading back with some friends and testing out the lamb shoulder. See you there.

Happy’s Chinese Restaurant
4.4
/ 264

17 Garema Pl Canberra City 2601, Canberra

Been going here regularly for years, consistently the best chinese restaurant I've been to. Prawn toast is superb, satay chicken, mongolian beef, chilli beef are all excellent. Service is also good, although the dishes are brought out a bit fast sometimes on busy nights. Brilliant place.

Monster Kitchen and Bar
3.8
/ 402

Nishi Apartments 25 Edinburgh Ave 2601, Canberra

At one of the entrances to Monster, a restaurant/bar in Canberra, there's a row of bicycles. For a brief second I wondered if they might have been the bicycles used by the staff to get to and from the restaurant, though I quickly concluded they were probably there "for effect". "It's very hipster", my friend Patrick commented. The other thing that's very "hipster" (the word's so over-used I'm not really sure what it means anymore) was one of the bar snacks we had leading to our main meals: a jaffle/toasted sandwich that contained yabby. It was very tasty, and was a really terrific accompaniment to a glass of pinot gris, as we chatted, catching up on each other's lives. As I was already planning to come down for work, I decided to make weekend of it, go to some of the galleries, and catch up with some friends. Patrick advised "Monster" was one of the hip places to eat in Canberra right now, and this evening's meal clearly showed why. Like a lot of places these days, Monster's evening session is dominated by sharing plates. After the jaffle, we continued with the cured kingfish, some pork-belly, and some very toasty smoked eggplant. We also squeezed in some pannacotta. Four glasses of wine and five meals set us back $126 which wasn't bad at all. We probably should have just bought a bottle of wine. In Sydney, the same meal probably would have set us back an extra $30 or $40. The presentation was good for all. The tastes were also good, especially the kingfish which we both rated highly. The staff were also good: friendly, smiling and attentive without being in your face. The design of the restaurant's also really interesting. Although there are lots of shared tables, they're designed (with lots of diagonal lines) in such a way that you don't feel like you're seated at the same table as other people. I also really like the wood panelling that dominates one of the entrances.

Water's Edge

Pleasant food, good service, expensive prices. Very pleasant but not outstanding.

The East Kitchen
4.8
/ 198

28 Challis St Shop 2 2602, Canberra

I've been eating at the East Kitchen for years and finally thought I should pop up a review! The food is always fabulous and the friendly cheery service is terrific. Is there a better quality, more reliable or better value one around? No there is not! I highly recommend a visit today. Ohhhh, and you'll never find a better lunch box deal! Includes spring roll and two curry puffs. WAHOO.

Common Grounds Gowrie Cafe
4.3
/ 274

Shop 4 1 Jeffries St 2904, Canberra

Good wheel chair access. Reasonable prices ($8.9 for eggs on toast). The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. Campos coffee was yum made on a La Marzocco.

Belluci's Manuka
4.1
/ 316

Cnr Franklin & Furneaux Sts 2603, Canberra

Our waitress was very attentive and was quick to respond to anything asked for. My wife had the seafood linguine which was very well presented and yummy. I had the picante pizza. It was really good but could have been a bit more spicy for my taste. I enjoyed a cold glass of peroni whilst my wife ordered a half bottle of French rose. To finish I had the rich thick chocolate cake and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu. Fantastic experience.
