Pide House

Woden Plaza 2606, Canberra

Simply magnificent food and wonderful atmosphere. The waitress, however, was not very attentive.

Maple + Clove
4.2
/ 389

Realm Precinct Burbury Street 2600, Canberra

Really average food, incredibly overpriced. The coffee is good, but again - overpriced. They're trying so hard to be so hip and totally miss the mark.

Dickson Asian Noodle House
4.4
/ 332

29 Woolley St 2602, Canberra

If you go to the Noodle House, you have to have the laksa. It's awesome and one of the best I've ever had anywhere in the world.

Au Lac Royal Vegetarian Cuisine

/ 325

Shop 4 39 Woolley St 2602, Canberra

Best restaurant in Canberra! Great staff and super quick service. The food is delicious and inexpensive. A good range of food and drinks suitable for children even the fussy ones. Even the non-vegetarians in my family including my grandma loves it there!

A Bite To Eat

Chifley Shops 0, Canberra

Average food, poor service. Over-rated.

Smith's Alternative
4.5
/ 288

76 Alinga St Melbourne Building 2601, Canberra

I had been spying Smiths Bookshop since touchdown, having very limited time I was hoping that I could make it there. I wasn't there to buy a book, but I desperately needed a good coffee. The shop has been there for twenty years (so the sign said) and has weekly poetry readings. As soon as I entered I felt relaxed and happy. This shop has a great chilled out vibe, a sense of humour, and lovely staff. The books are of a wide stock, reading you would be hard finding elsewhere, and very interesting topics (Tree Houses of the World stole my attention). There really was a book for everyone. Great if you are a fellow visitor looking for something to read on your travels. Every nook had something else hidden away, and you could let yourself go for a couple of hours of exploring. If I was a local, this would be my local coffee stop. We sat out on the footpath on comfy arm chairs, nicely shaded from the sun, and doing as much people watching as my eyes could enjoy. The coffee was fantastic, just what I needed. My friend had a great tea, served in a pot. The girl serving was a little sprite, and I wondered if she might have a little Faerie in her blood. Smith Bookshop felt like it had been plucked out of a trendy inner suburb of Melbourne, only with zero pretentiousness. It is a little outside the main mall area, so I guess it wouldn't get a great deal of passing traffic, but it takes you away from the hustle. The only negative aspect of the shop is that I could not stay longer and give my mind a good solid feed. Highly recommended.

Močan & Green Grout
4.2
/ 353

19 Marcus Clarke St 2601, Canberra

Don't be put off by the wankery that Močan and Green Grout oozes—you should expect it from a venue that refers to itself as an "ethical café" and doubles as a bike maker. But there is something to be said for a café that does walk the walk. They literally grow their herbs at the front door and provide their green waste to the compost bin at the local community garden!

The Pedlar
4.2
/ 340

65 Constitution Ave Campbell 2612, Canberra

Great little trendy pub and local cafe/restaurant for Campbell. Indoor and heated outdoor settings. Traditional as well as a bit out there dinner menu. They also have a good value kids menu for breakfast and dinner (we had to ask - $10/plate so don't be shy). We booked through Facebook (very quick response!)

Dolce and Salato

Frankies At Forde
4.4
/ 283

1/26 Francis Forde Boulevard 2914, Canberra

If you have never been to Frankie's you have been missing out.The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are friendly We dine there regularly and there specials board is exciting I can highly recommend the "cookies and cream" cocktail, I bet you can't stop at one Do yourself a favour and go there, you wont regret it

Chatterbox Espresso Bar
4.2
/ 325

40 Cameron Ave 2617, Canberra

Saturday morning breakfast gets exciting and fun when dining at Chatterbox. The staff are so friendly that you can't withhold yourself from having some of the bubbly nature rubbing off on you and making your weekend start with a positive spin. The food is well presented, interestingly matched and definitely quite delicious. My pick would be the potato stack for that awesome carb hit and maybe a side of their beautiful bacon *mouth water*. If you're a fan of hot coffee make sure you explicitly state this, an "extra hot" flat white will normally come at the same temperature as you would expect a normal one and a regular too cold for my liking.

Kita
4.8
/ 216

59 Boolimba Crescent Narrabundah 0, Canberra

Amazing food, fantastic service and a really cosy, chill atmosphere :)
