Zambrero Darwin

I came into the store in the evening and I was the only customer. The lady behind the counter had her back turned from the service area while she was on her phone which I can understand, it’s a quiet night. I wasn’t expecting 5-star service but a hello would be nice when she finally noticed me and took my order. As I was watching her make my order, she had not washed her hands prior and almost forgot to put gloves on (hello food safety). I was waiting for my burrito to be made when I received a phone call I had been waiting to place another order when a lady came out from the kitchen area to basically tell me while I was still on the phone: “For future reference, don’t talk on the phone while getting your order done”and then went back in the kitchen. I understand it’s rude to be on a call while ordering but it’s also rude to interrupt someone who is on the phone - about to purchase another one of your products which the staff who was on her phone earlier then proceeded to “lovingly” make (check photo for reference). I may not be a frequent customer but “for future reference” I may just be a lot more infrequent due to the quality of service and product I experienced.

I have always preferred Zambrero chain to other Mexican chain like Guzman or mad mex. To be honest I was very let down by the taste of the burritos served at the Darwin city franchise. The taste was very weird with over cooked rice. This is the second time I have visited this franchise and was let down both the times. I won’t be ever visiting this franchise ever.

I love Zambrero but the staff here is the rudest ever. The girl is almost agressive it’s chocking. I’ll never go back to this Zambrero.

I would say negative 5 stars but that is not an option! One employee by the name Deedee is constantly rude every time I go there. I have been there at least 20 times and every time she rolls her eyes and speaks in a condescending tone. Doesn't listen to the customer and is also very rude to her fellow employees, I witnessed her yelling at another lady when she asked a simple question. Very disappointing, I will not be coming back and will be telling my fellow peers about this experience so they never go back!!!!!!

Burrito saved this review... Food was great (vegan burrito) love that they provide guac in the vegan option. Have always loved zambrero. Most other locations I have visited would get 5 stars since they have a great chain. However Darwin CBD needs a good manager. Seemed understaffed and service and experience are suffering. Restaurant was a mess. 7:30 pm looked like a Macca's in Sydney after the bars let out. Staff are clearly behind on so much in terms of cleaning and they can't pay attention to customers properly. They need an authority figure to tell them to drop the Uber eats orders every once and a while and focus on quality experience. Can't let that suffer. I wouldn't go back to zambrero for anything but takeout at this location.

Went there first time in Darwin, live down in Alice Springs, wonderful service from your staff, and kind manners from your lady at the front, named Lily? She was superb!! 😍😊😊 Clean dining area, and speedy and delicious food. Loved the burrito bowl!!!!!!🥰🥰😘

Delicious burrito, great filling options, fresh salad. They actually filled it so the bottom wasn't all folded wrap like other burritos. Great customer service, my burrito artist was kind, patient and happy to be there!
