Love the Chilli Chocolate!

Beautiful sweets and drinks but no kids facilities of any kind. No high chair. No nappy change facilities. This should not be marked ‘family’ or ‘kid’ friendly. I suggest going elsewhere if you have a kid under the age of 5.

I met a friend in Maling Road at 1530 today and found it to be fairly well closed up, with most cafés closing at 1600. I went inside one place, which still had an hour of trading left, only to find them sweeping the floor, leaving piles of dirt everywhere. There were no customers, and the radio was blaring. No atmosphere whatsoever. I left straight away. My friend recommended Xocolatl, as they do excellent hot chocolate, so we walked down there. Much to my delight, it was full of people, and beautifully warm and cosy. The staff were so lovely...very friendly and helpful. We were there for about an hour and a half, and in that time, they sold a constant stream of their stunning chocolates, which is a testament to how good they taste. The coffee was extremely hot, which I find alters the taste, and consistency of the milk a little, but other than that, this place is an absolute gem. It closes later than the others, which is just what this shopping strip needs.

The spice rose infused hot chocolate is sublime. Chocolates are superb staff friendly and courteous. Venue clean. Drinks yummy. Range incredible and some unusual flavours must try. Rose caramels, creme brulee, honey chocolate are wonderful. The sculpted pieces gorgeous and the blocks brilliant

Love this place! Chocolates and hot chocolates are by far the best that Melbourne has to offer. Staff are always polite and knowledgable, ill definitely be back!
