Good place and spicy food

Although it’s a fabulous Sri Lankan restaurant to experience fine dining, damn expensive for the food they serve. Service is up to standard and nicely designed interior. Worth visiting if you don’t mind $$$.

Upali is the kind of restaurant that you want to go to over and over again because everything on the menu sounds amazing. We couldn't have enjoyed our meals and the service more. The Hot Butter Cauliflower is a MUST!!

Rude lady manager who was condescending and hostile. I booked a birthday party for 16 pax until late. The arrival time was given 5:30-6.00.As we all know when we have a party everyone cannot attend to there at the same time.The lady manager was questioning from my visitors “ where are you all and you guys are late as well as as she wanted to remove my tables too.But first visitor was there at 5pm and graduated others arrived .Finally we all be there around 7:00.The lady welcome my all visitors by calling “5pm late table”. How unprofessional??? I quickly placed the order and all the staff were not having any curtsy at all. No smile and just dump the food on the table.when I settled my bill, I observed she has charged additional fee for couple of take away containers although I didn’t used them.How cheap? The Upalis standard are way too much dropped down than past.

Vegetarians beware: Five of us, all vegetarian, went for dinner on Saturday 15th May. On the whole food was good. Main problem is with one of the fried dishes: Brussels sprouts mixed in a batter and fried. It had fish smell. Looks like they fried this vegetarian dish in the same oil they fried fish based dish. Most vegetarians will not like this. I took only one bite, and left the rest. The owner should ensure this does not happen. At least caution the customers.

Really enjoyed the food here. Would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

What a great experience! There was great attention to detail with the sun going down we were asked multiple times if the blinds were in a good spot for us. The food we had was tasty and they were ale to customise the level of spice to accommodate what we wanted.

Owners have extended the floor area by incorporating the adjoining block, adding new interior design.... this has given the restaurant a unique look and an amazing atmosphere. Great food, friendly service and knowledgeable staff! We'll recommend Upali's any time!
