Is good food but Gees the man who took our payment was so rude because we paid with dine and discover vouchers. He stated that we should've informed them at the beginning. The service NSW website states you can pay at the end with the voucher and you don't have to say anything prior. Makes me wonder if they'd give people paying with vouchers lesser quality food?
A far cry from its heyday. Unfortunately, this icon has the same menu but the schnitzels are second rate. Bland breadcrumbs, thin slither of fillet over fried and Jager is sludge. Fortunately, everything else including the service is still enjoyable.
Food was amazing! But they forgot my main course after my entree, which took an hour of waiting and waving until I was noticed, then asked for another glass of wine and was forgotten by one staff to have to ask another one to bring it. The last drop was when I asked for the dessert menu and I never got it, needless to say I walked to another place to have my dessert. If it wasn't for the quality of the food. It would have been one star review.
First went to Una's twenty years ago and was delighted to find it was still going better than ever! The huge schnitzel serve (we all got 2 pieces piled high) and crispy & creamy potato rosti and sauerkraut was delicious and we all had leftovers to take home. Our meals were on our table in under 15 mins! A very friendly and happy restaurant with great staff. Excellent value for authentic hearty Austrian food. Definitly won't wait so long to come back for more.
Great for comfort food! Love the massive, Jager (mushroom sauce) schnitzel. Don't come here for health food.
This place was referred to by a friend as an 'institution'... and that it is - for some. It's a very classic and traditional place with the food and drink to match. I got the Jager Schnitzel - veal. Came with a cabbage salad, fried potato and mushroom gravy. Look - I don't think it was amazing. No better than you could get from any pub down the road. Meal was $24 They did have a good range of drinks including the classic 500ml beers and various schnapps which made the trip exciting. Would I go back? If I was in the area sure, but wouldn't travel across the city to go back.
Coming from an Easter European background, I must say the dishes do not taste anything like the dishes we ate in Europe. Chicken paprika, beef Goulash, even the snitzels are very, very plain. Nice service though
Good tender schnitzel, very tasty crispy potato rosti, and a huge portion
The Jaeger Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom sauce was awesome. Staff were great too!
Great service, generous portion, easy to find parking. I ordered all different types of Schnitzels with my friends and we found that it was good value for money, and all the different Schnitzels are great tasting no matter the meat. The size was also very generous that not all us blokes can finish each of our own.
