The Meat & Wine Co Southbank

Quite simply the best steak I have ever had. Our noisy party of five had a great meal expertly served by our waitress Sarah. Definitely coming again next time we are in Melbourne .

This has to be the best Steak House in Melbourne, we booked for a small after wedding lunch and could not have asked for a better experience. The service was second to none and the food absolutely amazing. The rib eye wagu melted in your mouth, the beef carpaccio was awesome, we also had a tasting plate and omg the pork belly was divine. Could not fault this place, highly recommended

I went with 3 of my friends and we all ordered basically the same thing except we all like our meat cooked differently. Every one of our steaks were chewy, and rubbery which was super disappointing. Also, when i ordered a salad for the table all i got was a bowl of lettuce and a couple of tomatoes in there. That is not a salad. When questioning if they have anything else to add to the salad, the lady manager rudely comes up to our table and says to me well what do you want us to do, i said some cucumber, or Spanish onion would be good but its fine, i just wont be paying for it. she rolled her eyes, scoffed and walked away. the two stars is for our waiter, i cant remember his name but super enthusiastic about his job and does a good one at that.

Waitress dropped a full plate of food right down the back of my partners chair which left mushroom gravy stains on her dress and inside her handbag which was on the end of her chair. Free glass of muscato was offered as a sorry. Her main came out and other than the salt level being incredibly high was tasteless. Had to argue with the manager to get a better compensation than a free glass of wine. My steak was lovely and thoroughly enjoyed it but a pretty underwhelming dining experience. The steak saved this review from being a 1 star.

Absolutely fantastic! Our steak was "the best fillet" I have ever had! Will definitely be back again!

The food was great, environment was romantic with dimmed Orange lights, service was excellent. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

As the name suggests it's all about meat and wine... The place looks the part of a fine dining restaurant and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Let me get to the point! First ordered the Beef Carpaccio and it was delicious, then the Portuguese Prawns which were tasty. The main was a Shorthorn 150D Rib eye steak with creamy mushroom sauce and a side of Greek Salad. Without getting too technical it ticks all the right boxes but nothing to jump up and down about! Especially when your paying premium prices. Overall worth a visit! Ribs are a must get🍖💯! We got the platter with both pork and beef. If you only have capacity for one, pork is more recommended. The steak and burger are nice as well.

Absolutely stunning, delicious and I won't eat steak again anywhere else. Great staff. Even though there was a delay in our order due to some mistake, they came apologised over and over again. Friendly staff and excellent quality meat. And of course halal.

The speed and type of service we got from the 3 people that were looking after us was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. Great location and lovely clean restaurant. I would highly recommend it.
