When I first saw 'The Gingerbread House' it took me by surprise. Having grown up near Katoomba I had associated the spot with the Church that use to be there. I walked in and took in how masterful the renovation was. It had been able to keep much of the building the same, however had erected a food prep' area and had some beautiful decorations about the place. I was minding my nephew at the time, and the two of us went outside and enjoyed the spacious children's play area.

We landed in the Gingerbread House accidentally, and such a pleasure it was! Sweets were really good, coffee nice. Still, it isn't the cheapest place (piece of cake costs at least $10), but the nice smell of ginger, beautiful shop and helpful service, are worth it. Being around those huge nutcrackers, lollipops, christmas trees and gingerbread decorations, we felt like kids again.

Unique venue that will be easily loved by children (and adults). It was an old church building that has been transformed to a ‘Gingerbread House’. They obviously sell a large variety of sweet treats and lollies on top of desserts, drinks, breakfast and lunch. Outside you can find children’s play area which adds the fun as this venue is perfect for family with children. We had their chicken, ham and cheese toastie which was amazing. The pumpkin, red onion, feta and spinach tart was also very good. As for the drink, the coffee was okay, Henzel (iced salted caramel) was pretty good and Gretel (fruit blended frappe) was amazing! For the cakes we had their Spice Cake w/ Ginger Syrup and Milk Chocolate Cake with salted caramel frosting. The milk chocolate cake is good but the spice cake is the bomb! Definitely my dish of the day. The cake has bold and aromatic ginger flavour without going overly ‘spicy’. And that ginger ice cream, wow! Definitely a unique place to check out when you’re visiting Blue Mountain area.

Friendly staff. Very good coffee. Way beyond my expectations for a touristy looking place. Well worth stopping for.

What a find! This place is gorgeous inside and the menu is full of whole foods and home made treats. Kids menu doesn't have a hot chip in sight. Hooray! Breath of fresh air while traveling.

Just wanna say, One of the young lady's at the Counter was very rude making unnecessary comments about my teeth.. But food and coffee was great.. Maybe bit more respect to paying customers.

Just had Fathers Day lunch here with the kids. The pulled pork sourdough sandwich was great. The kids love coming here. They like the hot chocolates and the play area.
