Stunning location looking out over Coles Bay with quality food to match. We shared the Local Tiger Abalone with Soba Noodles in white wine sauce, very tasty and the abalone was so good. I had the Eye Fillet Steak for main, perfectly cooked medium rare and was a quality piece of meat, thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had the Lamb Backstrap which was also perfectly cooked with a lot of taste. Service was very friendly and helped us select a local Pinot Noir that was stunning, Craigie Knowe.

Best dining experience of our Tassie trip so far (which says a lot!). The food was incredible and the service was so special - Corey and the staff member who helped us in were both so welcoming, friendly and personable it really made the experience one to remember! On top of that the views are unparalleled. Would recommend to everyone.

The menu oversold the quality of the food. The wrong starter was brought to us as two dishes had the same name. All the seafood in the pasta was overcooked. We're told we wouldn't need to pay for the wrong starter although this was forgotten when the bill came. Overall a suprisingly dissapointing meal which hopefully was an anomally given other reviews

Some top notch food being served here! We had both dinner and breakfast here, and they were of very high quality. Complimentary bread with locally made salt pepper spicy crumb and butter. For dinner we then had the Cape Grim eye fillet steak with white polenta mash and the pan fried fish of the day, followed by the Dark Pearl for dessert. These were all exceptional and the taste was delicious, perfectly balanced. The accompanying wine made the meal. Our waiter Pablo was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I cannot fault a lovely evening meal. Breakfast was a La carte too, comprising the Pan Fried Scottsdale Thick Cut Maple Bacon and the Smoked Salmon Benedict accompanied by Orange Juice and Flat Whites. A delicious breakfast. Freycinet lodge itself is a little tired and needs a refit, but the location is stunning.

Visiting from interstate, we decided to come here for a friends birthday dinner and had a nice experience! Excellent food, in particular the desserts! Service from the team was also great from beginning to end - would recommend this local gem to anyone in the area!

We ended up dinning twice in this spot in 1 week! Words are not enough to express how amazing the staff are at The Bay Restaurant, big shout out to Pablo and Marie. So informative, welcoming and over all extremely friendly. The food was delicious and very well presented! Was a highlight to our trip in Tasmania - thank you!
