I understand it's hard to keep a good standard for a long time. It seems that the prime time for Tetsuya has been and gone. Though delicious, the food lacked the "wow" factor. I do want to be impressed with a 5 course menu with 180 dollar tag, but I wasn't, so won't be back in a hurry or ever.

Great ambience, excellent service, food a mix of exquisite and mmm-not-quite but overall a memorable experience

Food is amazing, love every single seafood dish. Out of all savoury dish might rank duck behind all others. Love the yuzu vanilla dessert, could do without the chocolate ones but that's really my personal preference (not a huge chocolate fan). We tipped but waiter seem a little upset. No idea if we are expected to tip no less than 5% (of the ~$580 bill)? Just didn't think is our job to make the staff happy given the price we already paid. Maybe increase the price if it doesn't cover the staff wages well? We don't like to guess how much is a good tip. Just a comment.

Food was amazing. Although I have had a bad experience with asian fusion restaurants ahem... Mr Wongs, this was top tier. Customer service was exceptional and they even gave us a private room. One thing is that the portions were too small, however it is fine dining so.. . Nevertheless, amazing, will come back

I had lunch here in April 2021. The food was out of this world - particularly the Confit Trout. Tetsuya’s really understands the fundamentals of fine dining and getting the little details right. However, I felt the ambience to be somewhat stilted, which prevented us from really enjoying our food to its fullest. The lack of music in the dining area means that you can clearly hear the conversations of your fellow diners, which means you need to speak in hushed whispers unless you want to be overheard. This combined with the bare decor of the room we were seated gave distinct vibes of being at a funeral. Amazing food and great service, but for ~$250pp you do expect a little more overall.

4th year wedding anniversary. Our favourite restaurant in Sydney. The staff waiters and food all on point as always. Can't recommend it more

Disappointing (3 stars mainly for the attentive staff). No dish was memorable; and none exhibited delicious natural flavours. The dressing/sauces were fine, but the core ingredients just didn’t impress. Not good value by any means. To quote another review on Google “ There is a big difference between pretentious and delicious.” Another table of 6 guests were behaving more like they were in a pub - loud and inconsiderate. The staff were reluctant to ask them to show a little consideration.

I got to say I've heard many things before coming to Tetsuyas and pleasantly surprised! A very close friend surprised me with this amazing experience and it was indeed a dinner I will remember. 8 course dégustation menu with an additional start of two oysters and alcohol. The service is impeccable. The staff are friendly, attention to detail and able to entertain when serving up dishes. An amazing view of the zen garden and the ambience of the restaurant is so clam and relaxing. Thank you to all the staff and chefs for an amazing course menu and for making the day so much better! I was completely full by the end and I'm sure you will too. Welcoming yourself to an blissful food coma of the highest quality dishes that Sydney has to offer. A must to dine when in the area and perfect for celebrations. Parking is available on site just fyi
