Steve Costi’s Famous Fish

Not sure if there's new management but never have had a problem until I've brought from there today. Prawns were not fresh, oysters didn't taste right. There was no fresh mud crab or Moreton Bay bugs. So really not happy as when your paying top prices you would expect to receive decent and fresh seafood. It seems to me that the people working today didn't care and will sell you anything even if it's not up to standard...After today I will never buy from Steve Costi's at East Village ever again.

Tried my luck here twice and have been disappointed both times. Avoid the Sydney Rock oysters, not fresh and a few of them tasted rotten. Good service but I’ll be giving it a miss until they start valuing the quality of produce that they serve.

I have lived in Zetland for around 7 years and love the lifestyle of this growing community. BUT I am so disappointed and upset with the decline of Costi. Over the last year the seafood and fish quality has turned into a product that I don't trust or respect. I have noticed that it is not the same products as a year ago. I have even felt quite sick after eating oysters, flathead and Barramundi. I have noticed the staff now are very stressed and over-run, and don't seem to cope. I am also concerned that the raw fish is literally kept right next to the grab-and-go offerings. I used to love the food from here and do wish that the business owners would pay some attention to the products and shop runnings, so that I can return as a regular customer like I used to be. But in the meantime to other customers please be aware and scrutinise the products that you purchase here, especially considering the prices that are charged as well.

The fish and chips here are amazing! The fish tastes fresh and the chips are delicious! highly recommend .

Soft shell crab was good, albeit a bit small. Barramundi fish curry was absolutely atrocious though. Very bad fish smell. clearly the fish wasn’t fresh, and even then, they only gave five small fish pieces in the curry. Would not recommend this to anyone. They should take it off the menu. Service wasn’t great either.

Overpriced and not even fresh produce. Fillets all look dry. Once got some sashimi and it was completely off when I opened it at home. Never again

So delicious dress Salomon. It was one of my best experience.

Fish tacos here are always good. Update: look out for the Barramundi curry and the mixed, grilled seafood. The fresh seafood is always good too.

Discovered this shop through Shopback's In-Store section and decided to try the food here. Was my first time ordering here and I was quite satisfied with the food. The Mix Seafood Grill did take a longer than expected amount of waiting though.
