Beaney Lane Off Russell Street Adjacent Grand Hyatt 3000, Melbourne
I've been here several times for drinks and the highlight for me is the stunning interior decor. The service is always great too. The staff member behind the bar was very informative and let me know about all the specials on food and drinks. Our snacks (fried chicken and curly fries) came out quickly, and they were delicious - exactly what you would want while drinking. However, I've ordered multiple cocktails here off the menu and they are not at all to my liking. The flavour combos are strange, and always taste overly sugary. I would come back to Spice Market, but it definitely wouldn't be my first recommendation for a night out in the city. Also I'd stick to spirits and give the cocktails a miss.
The bold security at the door is the most disrespectful and rude... NOT RECOMMENDED
The Blvk Dynasty event should be shut down. Shame I had to give a 1 star to a place I loved so much until this even ruined it for me. The bouncers are rude and horrible and the African guy who seem to be the host with a big beard was beyond rude and appalling in the way he treated me and my girlfriends> Don't ever go here and the event must be shutdown!!!
If I could give 0-Stars, I totally would! We went to Blvk Dynasty and it was horrible. The bouncers were out of this world rude and on a power trip. The host with a big beard was very nasty to one of my female friends. It was all in a not an event I would ever recommend to anyone in Melbourne. A total waste of time and money. Stay away!
We had taken the launge area and it was very good away from the crowd but at a place where you can enjoy the crowd performance
We visited Spice Market twice after dinner during a weekend in the city. Both times the staff were excellent. The desserts are terrific!
The bouncers are extremely rude and arrogant. My friends and I came for the Blvk Dynasty event and it was a total waste of money. Extremely tacky and poorly organised. We were so disappointed and felt like this event has ruined Spice Market for us. We use to love Spice Market and came here for many years but this event is terrible and full of tacky and patrons. The guy who also was on the mic with a big beard of African heritage was extremely hostile and nearly fought my friend when he requested a song from the DJ. All in all, this venue has one of the best decor in town but the sort of events they hold is rubbish and a total waste of time and money. SO for that reason, we will not be returning to Spice Market.
Don't bother it's horrible sooo bad!!!!
I was harassed and racially discriminated by their entire security team. They called me racist names, started making rude remarks on my appearance, and threatened physical violence just because i had sneakers on instead of formal shoes; they should have just asked me to leave politely. I’ve never been treated like this otherwise i am not one to post reviews online at all. DO NOT COME HERE!!! If you’re anymore tan than a snakes underbelly, then you won’t be welcome here.
Hosted a hens night here and got one of the hens packages/rooms. The hens entertainment was fun and everyone had a great time. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food included in the package was amazing! The package provides a nice amount of food and non-alcoholic drinks but you may want to add additional alcoholic drinks if you have a big drinking group. Thanks spice market and staff.
